Thats the same old story regarding Frozen. Every time someone posts "New Frozen artwork" we've already seen it. I wonder if Disney is getting a kick out of kick out of people wanting to see Frozen images.

What's up for Disney features next year? Another fairy tale, Frozen, which could be taken as a show of studio confidence or reliance on a sure bet. Like Tangled, it is loosely based on a classic story — The Snow Queen — about a clash between sisters that involves a journey across a treacherous frozen landscape.

"It's not a love story," assures Lasseter as he makes a case for upholding the studio's princess past. "I believe strongly that Disney needs to make these kinds of films. It is classically Disney, yet fresh and original for today's audiences. And not just for little girls."

I wonder if by "It's not a love story", he means that romance won't be the heart of the story or there won't be romantic elements at all.

If it's the former, we already knew that. I would find it a pity if it's the latter but that's just personal preference, some may find it to be refreshing.

I was thinking that they are trying to reinvent what a princess movie can be about.I mean a movie about the relationship between sisters could be interesting.Espically if there will be a villian who is possibly an antivillian. But yeah I could possibly see them downplaying the romance in favor of the sisterly relationship.Brave did it for the mother and daughter relationship maybe Frozen will do it for a sister relationship.

Romance might be a small subplot but the sibling relationship is the main focus. In fact I would be happy to see it. :D

I can say this movie is even more like Wicked if it was an adaption of the Snow Queen instead. In fact I think its the Snow Queen meets Wicked in a way.It maybe even more like they are adapting Wicked than Snow Queen.

Which is funny because once upon a time Disney was once thinking about adapting the Wizard of OZ in the 30's but when the MGM movie came out they decided not to do it.But man whaf if Disney did do the Wizard of Oz instead of MGM man that would have changed the history of film animation.

Sounds about right. Could be pretty fresh since Disney don't often do anti-villains, the only previous example I can think of being Long John Silver. I only hope the snowmen don't usurp the role of villain, with the worst case scenario with them continuing to become a threat even after Elsa's presumed redemption.

We will see whats happens but I have a feeling that maybe Disney will put other elements from the original story into the movie in subtle ways.I am just glad this wasn't made in the early 2000's or this would have turned into a Shrek like comedy.

(minor rant) I'm looking forward to the day when Disney doesn't feel the need to act so apologetic for doing a fairy tale again. I really miss when they played up the fact that these were based on classic tales and were not all "don't worry boys, this isn't going to be like Mermaid or Beauty and the Beast, we've changed the title and some plot lines to make it "cool".

Don't think they have really been changing plotlines to make it cool. Agreed about the titles. And rightly or wrongly (I say wrongly), the public has now lumped classic Disney movies into one big category where they are all homogenous "fairy tale princess movies" so I wouldn't blame Lasseter for the PR talk.

I sort of blame the Princess Collection for it. They made those movies feel like they're only girls only, so yeah. Their fault.

Yeah, they have done a lot of damage to the perception of Disney movies in the public eye, even critics aren't immune. It is Disney's own fault really but I feel for the folks at WDAS and even Pixar (Brave) for having their their movies dismissed simply as 'princess movies' whatever that is supposed to mean. As if princess was a genre.

Enough talking Mister Lasseter, gimme the teaser now. Ralph is on the screens in a few hours, would be so easy to deliver something, even almost nothing, just a few shimmering snowflakes blowing on the OFFICIAL logo.... Back to the "Love" stuff : Ok, forget Anna and Kristoff ice skating and singing their affection and burning desire in a "Ma belle Evangeline" style. And forget the classical finale with Anna or Elsa wedding... But we will have more interesting and psychological matter instead. And maybe a beautiful finale Elsa-back-in her family kingdom-sisters reconciliation-real coronation-sunny spring glory.
