It's so sad whenever I heard such news. It means another legend in the voice-over world has turned silent. We also lose a good friend in the sense of him coming into our lives through the invention of television.
Awhile back, a friend of mine asked me to get his autograph because she was a huge fan of Rabbit. I never got the chance when a voice actor friend I know never heard of Ken before. The friend eventually switched interests and I moved on from continuing to find and contact Ken. I don't think she's heard this news yet and I don't want to be the one to tell her. She's very sensitive and I know this will greatly upset her.
R.I.P, Ken, thank you for the wonderful and bountiful memories!

I have to say that Rabbit was always my favorite of the Pooh characters, and I grew up on the voice of the modern films/TV/etc. as opposed to the original film/shorts, and still prefer it. It's sad to know that voice will no longer be Rabbit. I don't know much else about him, so I can't comment. Rest in peace.
Listening to most often lately:
Taylor Swift ~ ~ "The Fate of Ophelia"
Taylor Swift ~ "Eldest Daughter"
Taylor Swift ~ "CANCELLED!"
Where are all the good voice actors from our childhood going? Its a lot of them are going faster and faster each day.I mean the voice of King Triton died last year as well.
I hope Tom Kenny can do Rabbit justice.I mean the man really did a good job in the 2011 film.
You will be missed. And thank you for putting a smile on generation of children's faces.
Mr. Sansom was easily the greatest Rabbit, and I always hated that he was replaced by Tom Kenny without even being notified (even if that's how the business works, it's still really low). I remember reading that he said as far as he knew, he was still under contract, so it's a shame to lose him so soon after getting unceremoniously booted from the part.
I remember seeing a video interview with him one time on a morning news show. The anchorwomen had absolutely no knowledge about how animation works and were asking painfully stupid questions, but Sansom was a great sport and kept it classy anyway. He did the Rabbit voice and told them how he would do the voice for his grandchildren. He was a really great guy and obviously very grateful to be voicing Rabbit. I wish I could find that interview to post it here.
I don't think I'll ever get used to Tom Kenny's Rabbit (I've really, really tried to enjoy it, but all I hear is SpongeBob), but at least Mr. Sansom gave us a flawless performance for over 20 years. I think I'll watch "Find Her, Keep Her" from The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh in memoriam. Ken's performance in that still makes me tear up.

For now they're filling the shoes from other great voice actors of the past. Corey can imitate Hans Conried and Paul Frees easily. Jim Cummings nailed the voice of Winnie the Pooh so much, I thought it was Sterling Holloway at first!
They will always find someone to replace the actors, but I don't want to think about their passing right now, not when both are still going very strong in the industry.

I absolutely hate Tom Kenny's Rabbit as well. I swear every character he voices is with the "Spongebob" voice. There's only one time I know of he didn't and that was as Spyro The Dragon, and he was great there. So sad to hear about Ken though. His Rabbit was who I grew up with along with Junius Matthews, and Tom Kenny will never be as good as either of them.
Disney is awesome, and was the biggest part of my childhood.
Oh, come on, kenai! Not all of Tom Kenny's characters sound like Spongebob! Neither Slinkman, Lumpus (Camp Lazlo), Heffer (Rocko's Modern Life), Dog (CatDog) or Eduardo (Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends) sound the same or like Spongebob!
I also don't like Tom Kenny's Rabbit. Problem is, he has a very unique voice that can easily be picked out. Then again, I have a really good ear for voice actors, to which my brother hates it when I watch him play video games because I can pick them out. I picked out Tom Kenny in Final Fantasy X, to which he had all of four lines in a throwaway character and I later went on IMDB to confirm I wasn't just imagining it.
Ken Sansom is the Rabbit we all know and love and he will be missed.
