Tarzan Blu-ray
I used the search before and the this post didn´t show up so I created a new one (that can be closed).
This is my opinion of the Blu Ray:
Yesterday I bought Tarzan on Blu Ray (in Spain). I´m glad I bought it for 10 euros (they´re having a sale until the end of the month on several movies at this price) since Disney just have no decency anymore.
We were complaining about the lates releases just carrying over extras from the DVDs, right?
Well, in this case you´d wish they had done this with the miserable ones of the single disc release of Tarzan.
Want to know what the Blu Ray offers as extras?
1. You´ll live in my heart music video
2. Disneypedia: Living in the Jungle
3. Deleted Scene: Alternate Opening
4. Info; what´s this? Well, you press it an text shows up that reads:
The commentaries and interviews on this disc are for entertainment puroposes only....
What commentaries?
That´s all.
What the heck happened here? Are the extras from the Collector´s Edition lost?
On top of that NO DTS SOUND. Just a regular 5.1 sound.
So, I hope no one is expecting anything from this release.

I agree, but I remember on the old Limited Issue DVDs in America Disney called them Special Features. Then again I love having different languages on DVD/Blu-Ray as I am a huge fan of the dubs. As far as Tarzan goes I have the 2-Disc DvD from 2000, so even if I did get the Blu it would be just for the dubs.Scamander wrote:Different language tracks are no special features. On the contrary, it is just cheaper to only press one Blu-ray for half of Europe.
Disney is awesome, and was the biggest part of my childhood.

For those of you that were lucky to get the original 2 disc DVD, don't get rid of it!

Yeah, actually anything new about this info would be great?Scamander wrote:German customers got their disc replacements today. Both, flickering and compression artifacts, have been corrected.
- did they include more extras?
- did they include a DTS-HD MA soundtrack?
- is the video encoding different (BDInfo)?
- is there a different EAN or another indicator from which we can tell which version is the correct version?
nope, I didn't bought Tarzan yet because of the issues, but a friend of mine as well as several members of a German Disney forum received their replacements and confirmed that they fixed the issues.Freddy wrote:That sounds great!Scamander wrote:German customers got their disc replacements today. no.Yeah, actually anything new about this info would be great?

Unfortunately not.- did they include a DTS-HD MA soundtrack?
I can't check, but since the issues are corrected, it has to be.- is the video encoding different (BDInfo)?
In Germany, the standard procedure within all companies is to use some stickers saying "inspected quality" for corrected discs. Disney's doing the same thing here. Also, though the EAN is the same as before, the last cypher of the number on the disc itself is a 'B' now, instead of an 'A'. So, you can check it there, too. (I'm talking about this number.)- is there a different EAN or another indicator from which we can tell which version is the correct version?
Old number: TZE3L1W1SFA4A
New number: TZE3L1W1SFA4B
Of course, this could be different in other markets. As far as I know, France is going to get a re-release with new EAN code.
thanks for the info!Scamander wrote:no.

Disney did this with a disc replacement for TLK 2 but not this time. The replacement came sealed but without any stickers or other indicators so there is no way to say which disc is inside the amaray.Scamander wrote:In Germany, the standard procedure within all companies is to use some stickers saying "inspected quality" for corrected discs.
