I threw up slightly when I saw it ! It wasnt even announced like "Walt Disneys Classic Cinderella" ! Such a total shame.
That's really disappointing. Guys and young boys can like this movie too. Disney's name being ignored is disappointing too.

I guess when Hercules comes out they'll say " Take it home for your little warrior boy " ?

Or when Bambi gets another release " Take it home for your little baby Deer, he won't understand the concept of a Bluray, but it will be thrilling "!

Exactly ! Though I'm sure that example is a little extreme, it means the same thing. I wonder if Aladdin will be made into a 'Princess' film over being a 'Hero' movie ? I mean, all the Princess marketing would make sense to have a counter-balance, but they don't bother to do that, do they ? Just two files ...... 'Princess' or 'General'.

I can now confirm the Cinderella transfer is the same as it was on the Platinum release, similar to 101 Dalmatians

Best Buy will be offering a Collectible Case as a preorder starting 9/2. Its a Viva Metal Box case like The Muppets, and Lion King. Its $7.50, and the price comes off your total purchase of the movie when it comes out.

It should be the same as the edition Future Shop is getting...

Ugh... Oh no this probably means we'll be getting a HD version of that grainy transfer for TLM too...

I have to say I'm really bothered and saddened they market Cinderella so exclusively to girls. The reason that anything girly is talked about as just for girls is because apparently society thinks if something is girly in any way it's just for girls and boys will not tolerate it, but stuff for boys is also for everyone and girls will like it too.

Actually a lot of people very soundly think the transer will be re-done for when the film becomes 3D soon.

Thanks, and if it is truly exaclty the same, as in even down to the mistakes they made, I'm deeply saddened.

^I hope the 3D means a better transfer for TLM...

Aw, Disney Duster if this new Transfer really turns out to be the exact same one as on the Cinderella PE DVD I really feel sorry for you. I hope you'll be all right

I'll be alright when I then use this latest release to show on this and other forums how Disney butchered Cinderella and need to make it right!

I've read numerous times that TLM's transfer was NOT done from Media Reliance and that Disney has since given them all their films to restore, even that one. So I expect the new transfer to look amazing!

Media Reliance? Have they split ways with Lowry Digital?

In 2010 Lowry Digital's name was changed to Reliance MediaWorks to bring the brand in unity with AdLabs Films, an Indian film and media services company, whose name in September 2009 was also changed to Reliance Mediaworks[9]

I almost got it right

I just looked up Reliance Mediaworks, but only a very small portion of their site is devoted to film restoration. They have a very inadequate and pixelated video to explain what they do.

I wouldnt normally care, but ugh!

Not at the mistakes, but at the clear lack of effort now being put into their most treasured films?

Will the collectible case from Best Buy be sold separately? Are they normally? I've already preordered through Amazon but it's so nice!

They are sold as empty cases, used as a pre-order. So, on September 2, you can go to Best Buy and pay 7.50 for an empty case. The 7.50 will go towards your purchase on release day, but I normally just buy the case and buy the movie cheaper elsewhere.

Long story short - yes, you can get just the case.

Well that cover is just lovely ! That should be the cover full stop; none of this floating head nonsense.

In Disneyland Paris, when you go and meet the Princesses in their turret; the queue line contains various symbols for each of the Princesses, held in a glass case.

For example, Cinderella was her slipper, Ariel had the shell, Jasmine had the lamp, Rapunzel had the flower.

Now, wouldn't it be wonderful, as shown on the Cinderella case, if these films, or indeed all Disney releases, came out in a special collection that just had their famous symbol on it ? Or is that too dull for peoples liking ..... ?

Also, I have now seen HMV TV spots, and they are much more neutral, but they do play heavily on the fact that the 'All new! Tangled Ever After Short' will be featuring on the release.

Rapunzel is obviously the Power Princess of the moment.

Preaching to the choir isn't going to accomplish anything.

Besides, have other countries gotten different transfers than domestically before?
