Someone called me a grammar nazi.

Post by bradhig »

On deviant someone said I was a grammar nazi and posted a link to my stuff on Fanfic.net I am not doing it on purpose I don't know any better cause no one told me how. Also this laptop I am using now has a bad habit of doing strange things like zoom in or change web pages on its own.

Bradhig, why don't you post this in The Universe Has Stomped On Me thread, and also, you are definately not a Grammar Nazi because we can't understand all of what you're saying here, you're not using proper punctuation or in other words, you aren't using proper grammar!

No one has ever told you you don't use proper grammar? Not even in school? You never noticed you don't write the proper way as people who use the right grammar on, say, this forum?

No one ever tells me what is exactly wrong with my stories. They just say the grammar is wrong. I can't fix it if I don't know what is wrong.

Let's use this as an example:
bradhig wrote:On deviant someone said I was a grammar nazi and posted a link to my stuff on Fanfic.net I am not doing it on purpose I don't know any better cause no one told me how. Also this laptop I am using now has a bad habit of doing strange things like zoom in or change web pages on its own.
That should be instead:

On deviantART someone said I was a grammar Nazi and posted a link to my stuff on Fanfic.net of which they said I don't use proper grammar. I am not doing it on purpose, I don't know any better 'cause no one told me how to properly use grammar. Also, this laptop I am using now has a bad habit of doing strange things like zooming in or changing web pages on its own.

But I don't think anyone has the time to teach you all the rules of grammar. Ask the people who are complaining about you if they will give you examples of what needs better grammar, and together they will all help you learn.

Actually, I have told you exactly what is wrong with your stories in their past, and pointed out specific mistakes.

Isn't a grammar Nazi someone who keeps correcting people's punctuation/grammar skills as opposed to someone who keeps making errors? :?

I am almost afraid to write stories anymore. One Doctor Who story about the Romanov's with the Daleks and a lesser know race called the Mechanoids which takes place in 1918 is 90% complete.

Ask the people who say there is something wrong with your stories to explain to you what's wrong with them and that will help you. Try to learn.

bradhig, if you enjoy writing stories, then keep writing them. As you write you'll be practicing writing in English. Is English not your first language?

You're seen so rarely on this forum I don't really know you, but I do remember you complaining on the way Don Bluth's Anastasia concludes a few years back.

Do come back. Hope you're not disappearing again!
