Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I don't have region 2, so it is just a waiting game for me.

The Small One is available on Countdown to Christmas, but unfortunately it has been censored. Where as the unscrupulous bankers originally sang:

"Clink clink clank clank,
give your money to the bank,
telling little stories you can trust.

We never ever fail,
when we go to make a sale,
we simply cheat a little if we must!"

the bankers in the 'new' version sing:

"We try a little harder if we must!"

In other words Disney has PCed all over it.

DVD'S

As I said before just wait and be patient these all will probablly be released one time or another. I bought a VHS of Lt. Robin Crusoe U.S.N. at a Pawn Shop a few months back. You can still find all of these titles on VHS format you just have to look. But Moochie Of Little League has never been released commercially. So the chances of finding that movie are quite low.

I never realized that. I double checked my Japanese DVD, and it is also censored. They obviously got the original singers to sing a different line, because it sounds exactly the same otherwise. Just like they did with the lyrics of Aladdin.

Then I had to check my laserdiscs. They never released it on LD in the US, but they released it twice in Japan. Surprisingly, it is also censored on the 1995 laserdisc (from 9 years ago), but the 1985 laserdisc has the original lyrics. The funny thing is that the 1985 LD has no English, the whole thing is dubbed in Japanese only, except for that song. The song is in English with Japanese subtitles, like they did with the LD of Song of the South. Here is a photo of that laserdisc, I love the artwork:

It was also released twice on VHS, first in the 80s, then in the 90s. I wonder if they are both censored. First Disney censors a Pixar short, now this. Maybe Leonard Maltin will have to put put the original on a future DVD with a warning.

See, this is the worst kind of revisionist filmmaking. Not only does it alter the original lyrics (which in itself I find disgusting), it completely changes the meaning of the song! The song was there to make the market sellers sound dodgy, but now they are just decent hardworking people :P

I also assume the Australian R4 version is edited, as it would be taken from the UK print. Will check when I get home (I do vaguely remember the scene...).

In case you're interested, the two rental VHS copies released by Disney in the UK in the 1980s and the version released on the rental Mickey's Christmas Carol VHS also in the 80s were all uncensored, as was the film's (to my knowledge) only UK TV screening around 1986/87.

The version released in the UK to buy in the mid 1990s, renamed A Christmas Miracle and paired once again with Mickey's Christmas Carol, was censored, so presumably the censoring took place around this time.

As this is a late 1970s production I feel it is unlikely that Disney will include it in its original form on a future 'Treasures' (or any other DVD for that matter) which is a shame as the film is something of a hidden gem in what was arguably one of Disney's patchier periods.

However, I think it's safe to assume that if you stumble across a 1980s version (as I did - thank goodness for Grays Friday market!) it will be the original version.
