Ok, back to the basement.
The Retro Sci-Fi Collection 1 containing:
- Plan 9 From Outer Space SE (1959)
- Brain from Planet Arous (1958)
Ok, most of you would know about Plan 9, but I have to post the description from the back of the box for the other film:
"This is one B-Movie with a difference. In fact, it's a 1950s Sci-Fi film with Brains - Literally! A floating, disembodied and diabolical space brain named Gor threatens the future of the Earth when it takes over the body of nuclear physicist, Dr. Steve March. With grand plans of conquering the world, Gor announces to a gathering of heads-of-state that he will destroy any country challenging his domination. But Gor's plans to be the Head of Earth are threatened when a rival alien brain named Vol takes over the body of Dr March's dog and works with the Doctor's fiance to stop Gor. And No, we're not kidding. This one has to be seen to be believed".

Strangely, I won a copy of Confidence (with Ed Burns & Dustin Hoffman) in a competiton I didn't know that I had entered...
Still, always nice to win something.
Expecting a consignment of review DVDs soon...

Sulley, I'll be getting that Ellen special, too. It was on digital cable the other day and was HILARIOUS.
My parents got me the special edition of Citizen Kane, which I saw for the first time a little over a week ago and fell in love with it.

We went to the mall on Sunday and got caught at Suncoast's 2 for $22 deal. It was so funny b/c my brother decided to get Lonesome Dove we spent an hour trying to figure out what the second DVD should be. We were only limited to those DVDs originally priced at 14.99, which was quite a large selection but all the ones we wanted were 19.99. Finally I got to have the decision and it was either 20th Century Fox's Anastasia or the Disney-Rodgers & Hammerstein Cinderella, which I chose.
I haven't seen any news about this on the net. All I know is before I ordered those titles from Amazon, I went to Best Buy, Suncoast, and Borders to see if they carried them. Each time, they had none in stock, and all three's computer systems listed them as "OUT OF PRINT".Sulley wrote:Thanks for the heads-up about the soon-OOP Hitchcock titles, Jack! Is there a place I can find more detailed info on their discontinuing?

Gee, thanks Kram. I wanted to tell everyone I got the 4-part miniseries Lonesome Dove!Kram Nebuer wrote:We went to the mall on Sunday and got caught at Suncoast's 2 for $22 deal. So far, I have seen parts 1 and 2, and about half of 3.
And if anyone's curious as to what the other DVD would have been:
Final Destination
Yours, Mine, and Ours
Indiscreet
Titanic (the 1950s version)
To Kill A Mockingbird
To Catch A Thief
Clue
All About Eve
Sunset Boulevard
But I was too cheap to buy two for myself, so I let Kram pick the second, and he chose Cinderella, but of course, before that (and before Anastasia), we went through several other Disney ones, but not many were 14.99, and the ones that were weren't ones we wanted.
And of course...AFTER we did our buying at Suncoast, we go to Electronics Boutique, and I find a pre-viewed Nurse Betty DVD for only 3.99! But I couldn't buy it, darnit!
