Wacky Disney Stuff From Around the World

Post by Loomis »

Ok, I'll start:

http://www.engrish.com/detail.php?image ... 2004-06-09

It is a t-shirt from an "Engirsh" site, which is basically a site that highlights poorly translated and amusing English phrases. In this case, it is a baffling t-shirt with Mickey on it. BUT....

(LANGUAGE WARNING!) - Younger members please be advised, this may offend thine eyes. You have been warned. If you click and complain later, you are an idiot.

not to be mean Loomis but i think that is very unappropriate for this website. besides there are young kids who would come to this website to look around and some that are disguised as members. either you get rid of that picture or find a way to get rid of that word.

A word is just a word.

And I put a language warning.

Between that and your lecturing, I think young members are well and truly WARNED.

(By the way, - as long as we are discussing language... it's INappropriate, not UNappropriate ). :P

but you know how kids are today. they go on anything even if it looks suspicious. that is why there are these programs which stop kids from going to websites that are not meant for them.

Well, if said programs are working, then surely they couldn't possibly end up at UD.com.

We are the strangest group of people on the planet. :D We'd have to be filtered out automatically

well is there any way to get rid of that one word so that older people can see the picture and still understand what it says?

Personally I was not offended.

I very much like the phrase - Non violence is a weapon of the strong.

As for the rest of it, I am sure it is something hip that means something to someone but I don't understand it.

Totally appropriate and appreciated Loomis.

I SAID language warning.
Do you go into a movie rated NC-17, and come out saying "Oh, there was violence and sex in there! How can that be?!!?! I'm offended! I want my money back!"

I put this up for the small group of people who might find it amusing. It's not my website, but I thougt some might get a kick out of it. JJJ gets it, but the rest of you...I'm not sure I understand you.

As to the "offensive bit" - IT IS JUST A WORD. Like watermelon. Or papaya. Or cheese.
It is only offensive if you give it meaning. (Surely, you kiddies have read Harry Potter - the more you say Voldemort, the less power his name has over you!).
I choose not to give it undue meaning, and rather see the amusing side in an absolutely baffling article of clothing.

I'm constantly offended by things, all around me. Mobile phones, old people, children, people generally really....but how do I filter them out? I don't. I shut up and decide to live in what I like to call the human race.

I've put a FURTHER explanation up top as to what it is now for people who seem to blindly click without looking at warnings.

well since this topic is called Wacky Disney Stuff From Around the World, i thought i might like to show these funny Disney pictures that i found on a website that Escapay posted on another topic.

http://www.soundofmagic.com/

what you do is you go press Haloween 2003 which will lead you to the main website. once there click on Treasures link, then click on the Knocking Disney link.

No, because thankfully you're not allowed to censor things from me. Did somebody put you in charge of censoring things for older people?

LOL, I forgot about that section in the site! And my sister (a castmember) confirmed the "translations" as things she would normally think when she has to say those things to guests!
