This is great news. Hopefully, Warner will give us some more great news with 80's and 90's sitcoms. I'm even ok with them going on DVD-on-Demand via the WAC, but come on guys, just give us more of these shows! It's been almost a year and a half since the first season set saw the light of day, and fans have started wondering if Warner would follow up at all. Today we've learned that February 14th, Valentine's Day, sees the beloved, long-awaited DVD release of The Complete 2nd Season. The 3-disc set will have all 25 episodes at the sweetheart price of just $29.98 SRP. Here's the package art featuring Jaleel White as "Urkel":

Just curious to see how many people picked this up. I did! According to a poster over at sitcomsonline, the episode "Ice Station Winslow" is the syndicated version...not sure why but everything else seems to be in contact, even the music.
On a side note, the DVD menus look HORRIBLE...like they were made using a standard DVD maker.

The menus are extremely horrible, but hey...at least we got the second season, in the first place. Hopefully they'll put out the rest of the show. If it meant getting every episode of the show, I'd even take plain text menus that just list the episodes.
Think about this. Once bread becomes toast, you can't make it back into bread.

I agree about the menus but I also agree about getting these babies popped out asap....maybe they will.Spottedfeather wrote:The menus are extremely horrible, but hey...at least we got the second season, in the first place. I'd also like to see all the seasons of Perfect Strangers, Step By Step, Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, & Clueless released.
I really miss T.G.I.F. ....those were the days of Friday TV. Now crap is on.
I know it would be like a totally miracle but I'd also like to see Teen Angel & Odd Man Out released.

I wrote to the WAC about "Family Matters" not very long ago and was told they are looking into a third season with nothing for sure...yet. I also asked about "Murphy Brown" and was told, yet again, it comes down to music rights issues for that show. I agree about the menu for FM S.2, but my feeling is that this is how season sets of classic shows from WB are going to look for this point out. They are going to get as cheep as they can make them so that they can get as many out as they can and still make a profit.tlc38tlc38 wrote:I agree about the menus but I also agree about getting these babies popped out asap....maybe they will.Spottedfeather wrote:The menus are extremely horrible, but hey...at least we got the second season, in the first place. Welcome to the new reality for tv shows on DVD, that are not current first run shows anyway.
I understand that they are watching how the first release for "Perfect Strangers" has been doing to decide if they will come out with anymore. It has been four years since the first release, but that does not really mean anything. The split between the first and second season for "Growing Pains" has still be larger. These 80's and 90's family sitcoms all seem to be on the back burner or slowly released, and that is too bad.tlc38tlc38 wrote: I'd also like to see all the seasons of Perfect Strangers, Step By Step, Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, & Clueless released.
My guts tells me that Warner has been trying maybe harder then the other studios to get literally everything they hold the rights to on DVD. The biggest hurtle in that effort is music rights. I think in this decade, we'll see a lot of titles get released finally in the last great effort to put everything on DVD. However, I also have a feeling once we get out of the decade, whatever has not been released on DVD may never get released on a physical format. My hope is that I get all the show I grew up with before I'm too old to care about tv anymore.
Same here. The best thing in the world ABC could do to get me to care about them again is to bring T.G.I.F. back. I think "The Middle" would be great to headline such a new line up. All they'd have to do is come up with three new shows.tlc38tlc38 wrote:

Those shows are actually owned by Disney. They may end up released before the end of time, but I think a number of other Disney shows have a better chance at the moment of getting a Disney DVD release.tlc38tlc38 wrote:
