You guys can still find the Best Buy exclusive steels on their site.

Pinnochio:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Pinocchio+- ... lp=3&cp=1

Sleeping Beauty
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sleeping+Be ... lp=10&cp=1

I've always been on the fence about picking up the steels, but I rather have my collection with some sense of uniformity so I decided to stick with the standard amaray with slips.

I have picked up the Iron Packs since Beauty and the Beast, just in case I change my mind later.

well, I've officially given in and bought the Bambi Steelbook from ebay tonight for about $45. Considering my next best bet would be to drive to Canada and buy them at a Futureshop, I didn't think the price was so bad. The only problem is that with economy shipping I may not get it until Dec 8-21! That's going to feel like FOREVER!

Now I just need to get my claws on Pinocchio and Princess and the Frog. Both seem to be hovering around $60, so I might have to wait a little while to find a deal. Either that or just save up on swagbucks for amazon giftcards. I already have 2 $5 giftcards on the way, so I may just invest them towards Pinocchio.

Disney 2012 Steelbooks / Collectible Packaging Announced
http://community.futureshop.ca/t5/Movie ... d-p/348709

The Muppets
John Carter
Lady and The Tramp
The Avengers
Cinderella
Brave (Pixar)
Tangled
Frankenweenie

FINALLY a Tangled Steelbook. VERY excited for this. Who knows... with a reissue, maybe they'll add Tangled Ever After on there as well.

The Futureshop people are very active on their forum and apparently pass on any suggestions from members to Disney Home Entertainment. Anyone who likes this series of collectible packaging, I think it would be worth it to create a username and post on the thread expressing your interest.

Also, point out that we would love to see a collectible packaging reissue for the ones they skipped out on from last year - Alice, Dumbo, Fantasia/F2000, Fox and the Hound, Winnie the Pooh... as well as some older blu-ray releases that never got the Steelbook treatment, like Bolt, Meet the Robinsons, Chicken Little, and Dinosaur.

And if you aren't interested in these, then go say something anyways so the rest of us can enjoy steelbooks for years to come!!

HUMINA HUMINA HUMINA WHAT?!!!!!! So I can go on that forum and suggest or even draw some designs for what the steelbook could look like and they might do it?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know...part of me wants to not do that, just to see what ideas THEY come up with that I couldn't dream of. Do you think I could wait till they show a preview picture of what the steelbook would look like, then if I have better ideas send those in and they might change it?!?!!!!!

Haha keep your pants on Duster. It's a nice thought, but I doubt they Really pay any heed to design suggestions. It's seems they respond more to sales suggestions. Like what titles people would be interested in and how much of a demand there is for these things, or comments like the one suggesting to spread the releases out instead of putting them all out in November and December like have the past couple years.

It's worth a shot though. But definitely go on and at least express your interest in them. Because he did say "tentative"... which they've said about all of them at first and they all end up being released. But it could technically still be cancelled if the decide demand isn't high enough. So go!

OMG!!! THIS IS AWESOME NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely Love my steelbook/ironpack/viva metal packages! I can't wait to pick up Cinderella, Lady and the Tramp, and Tangled. I would also like to see them make these for all of the other classics as well as the others still coming out, like Pocahontas, The Aristocats, and The Rescuers.

I might get the metal box. No way I want the movie. Empty box is better.

I heard the movie is actually better than what people give it credit for, so I am willing to give it a chance.

Not confirmed yet if it is even available without the movie, or outside of Future Shop for that matter.

Please may you tell me where you got your "Monsters Inc." and "Up" steelbooks in slimmer cases? The only ones I found of those 2 films were in thicker/chunky steelbook cases and I'd prefer them to match the others (like your collection).

They're customs. I used extra Snow White steelbooks and simply replaced the covers using the steel plates from the Up and Monsters Inc Jumbo Steelbooks. A ton of people have done it over at blu-ray.com.

Oh I see, thanks for getting back to me. :)

Another thing I'd just quickly like to know about these steelbooks is whether or not the glue that attaches the card slip (with content details) to the back of the steelbook case, leaves behind any kind of residue/stickiness or does it come off easily and leave no trace of glue marks?

No, the glue does not leave any residue behind. I own a number of these and they all roll off quite easily, just like the glue that holds your credit card to the paper when they mail it to you.

TRON: LEGACY SteelBook

Post by GreatGreg »

The movie is from Germany, but it includes an English language track and I believe is region-free. (Which means it plays on any blu-ray player).

I played mine long ago when it was first released, but I have a region-free player (Seiki $48.00 Walmart).

JOHN CARTER releases on Tuesday!
