Greetings! (plus my Disney collection)

Post by confibulator »

Hello Ultimate Disney! I don't know why it took me so long to get here, but here I am. I started a Disney Board over at IGN, but it would appear everything that I was looking for with that can be found right here. :) Anyways, I just thought that I'd introduce myself before I began posting.

First off, a little about me:

I am 29 years old and am an Annual Passholder for Disneyland that caught the bug at an early age. My parents took me there on a vacation one year and even though I didn't really know what it was, I didn't sleep for two days before we left. We started going every year, a tradition that I have kept alive with my friends. I have cried in three movies in my lifetime and one of the first was The Fox and the Hound. My favorite Disney film is Alice in Wonderland and my Disney DVDs include:

The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad
Alice in wonderland: ME
(I have the gold as well)
Atlantis: SE
Beauty and the Beast: PE
The Black Cauldron
A Bug's Life: CE
Dinosaur
Dumbo: 60th Anniversay Edition
The Emperor's New Groove
Fantasia Anthology
Finding Nemo
The Lion King (Gift Box)
Mary Poppins
Mickey's Magical Christmas
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Peter Pan
Pirates of the Caribbean
Sleeping Beauty: ME
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs: PE
Tarzan: CE
The Ultimate Toy Box
Tron: 20th Anniversary
Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

Plus all of the Walt Disney Treasures in tins (although I had to catch up on waves one and two through the Disney Movie Club)

Click here for pics of my Disney Collectibles

Non-Disney Info:

I love hockey, my team being The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim (of course), surfing and am currently taking SCUBA lessons.

I really hope you find the site and forum satisfactory, and I'm always open to suggestions to make them better.

Hope you have a nice time here! :eye:

Hmmm, I can't figure out why some of the pics are working and some aren't, so I just replaced them with a link to the album.

Thanks for the welcome. I've been a fan of the site for a while now and have lurked every now and then on the forums. Glad to be visible. :)

If I lived in SoCal, I'd probably end up going all of the time. As it stands, I went four times last year, making the journey from the SF Bay Area for that sole purpose three of those (the other was for a Ducks playoff game, but since we were in the area... ;) ).

Hopefully I'll be able to add something to the discussions. I've certainly taken enough information from the site and forums.

Welcome, confibulator.

I have to admit though, i'm having a hard time w/ your name. Anything more than three syllables and I just tend to lose my focus...huh...kind of like some of the AD/HD kids I work with.

Anyway, mind if I just call you bul...ooooh...or hows about fibber?? :D

Seriously though, great to have you on board :thumb:

Heh heh. Most people shorten it to confib (I use the same name everywhere), but I'll answer to just about anything. I used to bartend, so I have certainly answered to worse than you can come up with.

You answer to anything, huh? What if I named you an emoticon? Yeah, how about your name is: :P

Ooh...I have a hard time pronouncing that...
In any case, welcome to the forum, confibulator! You'll enjoy it here, it's a very nice place!

You could buy the annual passholder at Disneyland or you could buy it online at http://disneyland.disney.go.com/dlr/tickets/index
I own the Deluxe, which now cost $279.00 for the whole year.

But I think you need to be a California resident.

E-mail Disneyland if you have any further questions.

Thanks for all of the welcomes. :)

If you decide to change my user name to an emoticon, you'll then have to refer to me as "the poster formerly known as confibulator" (or TPFKAC for short), which is substantially longer than the original.

But that's your call. :D

As for the Annual Passes:

There are three levels (two of which can be purchased by non-Cali residents). The highest level (the one that MMP and I have) is the Premium. For $279 per year (which is actually only for your first year since it gets a little bit knocked off when you renew), you get 365 days of admission into both Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure, plus the following:

• 10% merchandise discount at select locations throughout the Disneyland® Resort ($10 minimum purchase; restrictions apply)
• Exclusive benefits at select Downtown Disney® District locations
• Free annual parking pass for the Mickey & Friends parking structure. (subject to availability; restrictions apply)
• 10-15% dining discount at select Disneyland® Resort restaurants ($10 minimum purchase; restrictions apply)
• Special rates at the Hotels of the Disneyland® Resort (subject to availability; restrictions apply)
• One-year subscription to Disney Magazine.

The next level is the $179 Deluxe, which includes admission to both parks plus:

• 10% dining discount at select Disneyland® Resort restaurants ($10 minimum purchase; restrictions apply)
• Special rates at the Hotels of the Disneyland® Resort (subject to availability; restrictions apply)
• Exclusive benefits at select Downtown Disney® District locations
• An annual parking pass for the Mickey & Friends parking structure is available for an additional $49. (subject to availability; restrictions apply)

Then there is a $99 pass that is only available to Southern California residents. With the exception of the Premium, these passes all have blackout dates, meaning you are not allowed to use your pass on those days (but you are able to purchase a reduced price admission on those days), so if you are thinking of getting one for a vacation, check the calendar on Disneyland's website beforehand to make sure that the dates are OK.

For me, it's totally worth it. Aside from my yearly trip that I take in December with my friends, I try to make it down at least one other time during the year. When you figure in the year of Disney Magazine, park discounts and events (Passholders were able to ride the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror before regular guests were let on), there's really no question.

Welcome, confibulator! :D

You have an awesome DVD collection, but I couldn't see the picture of your collectibles :( ...Also I think you mislabeled your Sleeping Beauty DVD. I don't think it's a Masterpiece Edition, though it does deserve that title! :)

You're lucky to live near Disneyland and have the chance to visit Everyday! I live in SoJersey and...well we can go to the library everyday :P ! I hope you have fun in this forum and have you considered posting your Disney Story in the General Discussion Forum?

Gah! I give up. First I tried linking the pics directly, but only a handful of them showed up. Then I try linking the site and it's membership only. :(

I just calls 'em as I sees 'em. ;)

Well, I live about 400 miles away from Anaheim, but it's drivable in about five hours (plus I work for an airline :D ). And come on, Joisey isn't so bad. You're close to NY, which is never lacking for activity.
I hope you have fun in this forum and have you considered posting your Disney Story in the General Discussion Forum?
Thank you. As for the Story thread, I am definitely working on an entry for that one. I just didn't want to put a greeting post up there because the title of that forum specifies movies and DVDs. Since I am new here, I didn't want to post things where they shouldn't be. I figured using the Off-Topic Forum was the safest bet.

   I hear that everywhere! No, I don't live in Joisey and tawk like that. Lol, in South Jersey, its totally different, but then again its changing because of all the ppl moving here from Philadelphia. NY is a good three hour drive and is bursting with things to do. It's just that our small-large town is so boring. We have bowling, movies, schools...schools...and dozens of little mini-malls. It would be so much fun to live near a Disney park (even if it is a long drive) but from our house the nearest (WDW) is an 18 hour drive on I-95 with no stops. But thats great that you work on an airline and make the trip a lot shorter! :)

Lol, Kram.

You'll HEAR it and you'll ENJOY it!

(And for the UD'ers who don't know Kram and mine's inside joke, it's taken from two things: something I say to him all the time, "We're going to watch one of MY DVDs now, and you're going to WATCH it and you're going to ENJOY it!" and the Rudolph movie, with Dasher saying to Rudolph, "You'll LIKE it and you'll WEAR it!").
