Okay I have a few questions:
!) Which two movies were nominated for an academy award for best animated feature in the same year?
2) "Do you trust me?" which movie is famous for this line?
3) Who is considered the strongest of all Disney heroines?
4) Which movie was considered the "B movie", but went on to be the most successful of all Disney movies?
5) Which movie was Chris Sanders set to direct, but was ultimately taken off due to creative differences?
6) How many movies have a mouse as the protagonist?
7) What is the 7th movie after Walt's death?
8 ) How many movies are blatantly set in the United States? Can you name them all?
9) Which movie was almost the first to get a screenplay for an animated film, but didn't?
10) Who is set to voice the lead character in Frozen?
Answers:
1) Lilo and Stitch and Treasure Planet
2) Aladdin
3) Mulan
4) The Lion King
5) Bolt (American Dog when he was on the project)
6) 3
7) The Black Cauldron
8 ) 6 (Princess and the Frog, Bolt, Home on the Range, Lilo and Stitch, Pocahontas, and Oliver and Company)
9) Aladdin
10) Kristen Bell

You know, I was thinking about that, but I stuck with the ones that are completely centered around dogs. In Fox and the Hound the protagonist is Tod, a fox with Copper (the hound) being more of a supporting character.

Not to mention that they were almost always animated in stop-motion. Unless, of course, those books really did open and close themselves.Angeldude98 wrote:Well, technically you're right, but I was actually just referring to actual footage of live action actors and landscapes, not the opening sequences of several films.Disney Duster wrote:This was fun!
But for question 20, any film that opens with a live-action storybook "incorporates live-action". That includes even the first film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Pinocchio is the only one I can think of that has an animated storybook instead of a live-action one.
Fantasia was missing for Number 20, though.

Thank you! Correction made. I had also omitted Fantasia 2000!

By that logic, I wouldn't count Oliver and Company. Even though the majority of the supporting characters in the film were dogs, the main character of the film was a kitten.Angeldude98 wrote:Jäger-Rose wrote: Do you also consider The Fox and the Hound?

I'm gonna present you guys with some harder ones in the mix. Good luck.

For #4, Black Cauldron, Great Mouse Detective and The Little Mermaid were all done with the Xerox process. And for #7, couldn't Emperor's New Groove count too, since it takes place in Incan Peru?toonaspie wrote:I'm gonna present you guys with some harder ones in the mix. Good luck.

I'll create some even harder questions, and I won't give any answers until anyone decides to take a shot themselves.
1. Give the real names of the following Fantasia characters:
(a) The smallest mushroom from "The Nutcracker Suite"
(b) The lead ostrich from "Dance of the Hours"
(c) The lead alligator from "Dance of the Hours"
(d) The lead hippo from "Dance of the Hours"
(e) The black baby flying horse from "The Pastoral Symphony"
(f) Bacchus' donkey from "The Pastoral Symphony"
2. Name the Disney animated features (excluding the 1943-9 package features) adapted from a British source material.
3. Which two Disney live-action features were remade as animated features?
4. Which Disney animated features - including package films - include a storybook framing device?
5. Which Disney animated features featured background work by Eyvind Earle?
ANSWERS: 1. The respective Fantasia characters are called:
(a) Hop Lo
(b) Madame Upanova
(c) Ben Ali-Gator
(d) Hyacinth
(e) Peter Pegasus
(f) Jacchus
2. By this, I mean films whose original source material was written by a British author, or originated from a British folk source. The films are: Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, 101 Dalmatians, The Sword in the Stone, The Jungle Book, Robin Hood, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, The Rescuers, Oliver and Company (Oliver Twist), The Rescuers Down Under, Treasure Planet (Treasure Island), Chicken Little (numerous "Sky is Falling" folk stories), Winnie the Pooh.
3. I did indeed mean Disney live-action features re-made as animated features. Or rather, in this case, animated features based on previously existing stories that had previously been made as live-action Disney films. Robin Hood (1973) had previously been adapted by Disney in 1952's The Story of Robin Hood. Long before Treasure Planet (2002) hit screens, the Disney studios' first completely live-action feature was a more traditional adaptation of Treasure Island (1950).
4. Animated features using storybooks as openers and frame devices are: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, "Johnny Appleseed" in Melody Time, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr Toad, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, The Sword in the Stone, The Jungle Book, Robin Hood, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Winnie the Pooh.
5. Eyvind Earle first painted backgrounds for Peter Pan and Lady and the Tramp prior to his most famous work on Sleeping Beauty.

I JUST REALLY LIKE FANTASIA ALSO WHY NO ELEPHANCINE?
"Ta ta ta taaaa! Look at me... I'm a snowman! I'm gonna go stand on someone's lawn if I don't get something to do around here pretty soon!"
Wonderlicious, those questions are pretty hard, LOL. It were referring to British authors for #2, there would be way too many to list.
For #3 are you sure you didn't mean "animated films remade as live action films"? Because I can answer that one right away.
Anyway I got more trivia for you all:
1.) Name the two Disney films where both parents of a princess are alive at the end of the film (not counting Mulan).
2.) What is the only animated feature to be set in Italy?
3.) "Lilo & Stitch" was originally supposed to take place where?
4.) Which animated feature originated as a crossover idea?
5.) In the entire canon, there have been only four (non-anthropomorphic) horses that have ever talked. Name them all.
6.) Name three Disney princesses that were not the main character of their respective films.
7.) Which is the only Disney animated film to deal with the subject of time travel?
8.) What was the very first song from a Disney film to win the Best Song Oscar?
9.) -------
10.) Who is the only main character in any film that did not have a single line of dialogue (excluding package films)?
Note: #4 might be an arguable toughie but if you had done any research or have at least seen the making of documentary for said film, it might occur to you.
Answers.
1. Sleeping Beauty, Tangled
2. Pinocchio
3. Kansas
4. Lady and the Tramp (this was a crossover between a published short story by Ward Greene and an animated short that Joe Grant was trying to make for Disney. It was Walt Disney's idea to combine the two concepts.)
5. Cyril Proudbottom (The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad), Captain (101 Dalmations), Frou-Frou (The Aristocats), Buck (Home on the Range)
6. Jasmine (Aladdin), Eilonwy (The Black Cauldron), Kida (Atlantis: the Lost Empire)
7. Meet the Robinsons
8. "When You Wish Upon a Star"
