yeah, but they released the insipid BatB Enchanted Christmas and Magical Kingdom DVDs as Special Editions in 2002 and i doubt they were as popular as Aladdin and the King of Thieves. maybe with the release of the Aladdin DVD there will be renewed interest in the Aladdin sequels?

anyways, they better release Aladdin and the King of Thieves as a SE DVD.

Hopefully there will be a renewed interest in the sequels. They'll probably do a trilogy set like they did with BatB and LK.

They most likely will stick a "Special Edition" Label on the sequel DVDs since all recently produced Disney DVDs have some kind of fancy title.

I am not sure if this has been mentioned but the Aladdin Triology is being released all together, Limited Time only as usual. Uk only?

It was with my Lion King 2 dvd, on an insert.
I was so happy, even though i have preordered the aladdin collectors edition from the usa.

I totaly agree with you and it bette rhave the same treatment that Beauty and The Beast and Lion King Sequals did anything less would just be unfair. Besides he would be dubm not to relase the Aladdin sequals while the main movie is still out and popular later one no one will care and just move on the the next Platinuim Edition. But thats just my opinion on the whole matter.

ROJ/KOT definetly deserve the "Special Edition" treatment. I wish they would do the TLK 2-Disc sets, but I doubt it. As long as the DVDs of the sequels get some decent extras, I won't be too upset. I'm looking forward to those DVDs more than the Platnum of Aladdin, so I'm invested. :D

"Oooh, when I catch that parrot I'll roast him over a slow fire"
"Mmmm, roast parrot, my favorite!"

"You're just supposed to arrest him!"

It's basically like the trailer you just mentioned, but a few seconds added discussing the DVD itself. I'd take screencaps except that I don't have a DVD-Rom drive.
Luuuuuuuuke.........
Well, I rented the Haunetd Mansion DVD, and downloaded the trial version of WinDVD 6 to bring you all the "sneak peek" at the menu system, virtual game, and behind the scenes stuff.

Woot, thanks, Yoda! As I said before, the menus don't seem to be the elaborate CGI ones of the previous platinums, assuming these are the final menu designs. Oh, well. Better to have simple menus than the complex mess that is the The Lion King DVD.

Thanx for the menu pictures, yoda_four! They are simple and plain, but they do just fine. I just wished they could've done something thematic like how the choices on then BatB DVD were on sign posts. Like maybe they could've showed the Agrabah Palace and put the choices on the towers or something. The virtual carpet ride looks interesting, but quickly put together since it seems to use scenes from the movie.

If those are indeed the final menu shots, then that looks way easier to navigate than the silly continent system on the Lion King DVD.

I personally dislike animated menus, particularly ones that replay every time you access the screen. These look practical and effective (don't care for the Magic Carpet thing, though).

these menus are so simple, i don´t think they´re the final ones...

I remember watching a Beauty and the beast trailer int the official website showing a main menu that never existed, with a different movie poster for chosing the three movie versions.

I remember that menu, PheR, but in the end, it ended up being the main menu of disc two - the posters were the only thing added for that trailer. Didn't The Lion King do something similar with its DVD trailer?

oh yes, I remember it, they were showing the main menu for the secon disc without the crappy continents thing (they sholud have left it like that :D ).

well, maybe this is a preview to the menus and they will change a little; I kinda like them though, maybe the options text is to big, I don´t know; I´d like to see somthing more artsy and arabian, but these are ok.
