I had a similar reaction to DL's "Skyscraper."
Eh, Demi has an edge to her music that makes her stand out from most of the pop artists out there for me, especially compared to her Disney Channel brethren. "Skyscraper" and the rest of the stuff from her new album are more traditional pop, but I can get behind it.
She & Him, however, is just too polished for me. It reminds me of early Beatles, which I just find dull, with some exceptions ("A Hard Day's Night", "I Saw Her Standing There", etc).

Her voice is just so, so, so, soooooo beautiful! She could sing the phone book and it would still be a treat to listen to her. Luckily she's singing one of Dylan's songs here (which she often does), which provides her also with imaginative and heart-breaking wonderful lyrics. I always get goosebumps when listening to this song. Sometimes I even have to cry a little, not only because the lyrics are sad or emotional, but just because of realizing how beautiful it is.

For better or worse, I canNOT stop listening to this one J-Lo track:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="

It's been almost 2 weeks now. I think in that time I've racked up something like 70-something replays.

It's a part of my childhood as well. I think I hated the song but I never forgot the music video. Which I think I must have liked.

Again: IF this world manages to survive for another 30 or more years, people will look back on music like this as though it were the "Strawberry Fields Forever" of its' time:
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="
http://www.youtube.com/embed/sgjLfJbIHbg " frameborder="0"></iframe>
An absolute musical masterpiece and one of the best songs of 2000. (The year. But, hell, the decade too.)

I'm slowly beginning to appreciate Dylan's recent live performance style... Very slowly, but it's a start.

This steals from a lot of songs (some that come to mind include "Barracuda", "Love Gun", and "Enter Sandman", which caused Metalllica to sue these guys), but it sounds way more awesome than any of what these guys took from.
