I just posted in the "bear baiting" thread not really noticing this one.
Not being mean, but I seriously can't stop laughing about the fact that she came back. It's just a big "WOW..." moment.
As far as whatever issues may reside on her side of the computer screen, I think it's too hard for any of us to ever tell. I've been working with autistic children ages 13-21 for the past few years and every single one of them is different. Doctors are even trying to stay away from diagnosing anything as Autistic anymore because it's developed too large of a spectrum. There are some calling signs she displays that suggest autism, like you guys mentioned above, but her posts seemed too deliberately disturbing towards the end. It's from my experience with autism, that although someone with it may get off topic it's more of a product of not being able to carry more than one thought at once. It's like a switch that just changes their train of thought involuntarily. They'll go back to a random topic you discussed with them a few minutes or even a few days prior then switch to another and then back to the present. Jackoleen's posts seemed to build off of one another become more and more sexually aggressive, obscene, and strange. It was a lot like she was testing the waters and then abruptly dove into these topics.
I think it can be assumed that she had some sort of social disadvantage, due to the nearly obsessive structure of her posts. I also just think she was cleverly trolling the boards while hiding behind that guise.
OT: Who was/ is Jackoleen?

I've seen that happen so many times since I used to help moderate a forum with very relaxed rules. We'd often have members throw a tantrum and announce that they were "leaving forever," only to return the next week or month under a new name without any consequence. I can't tell you how frustrating that was to watch, but since I wasn't the one that made the rules I couldn't do anything about it. Bans were a different story altogether, since it not only affected accounts, but IP addresses; you could not even view the forum if your IP was banned (not that it could prevent you from obtaining a new IP). Anyway, I can't say anything really surprises me anymore, especially after watching members insanely type out conversations back and forth with themselves through multiple, supposedly separate accounts, basically putting on one big sock puppet show. I've even seen a member fake his own death while continuing to post under another name, and that wasn't even the worst part of the story.singerguy04 wrote:Not being mean, but I seriously can't stop laughing about the fact that she came back. Anyway, it's interesting when you can immediately recognize someone's writing style. That would typically clue me in before I actually bothered to glance at the IP address; sometimes even the choice of an avatar or user name is a dead giveaway. In this case with Jackoleen, the writing style is already extremely unique and more recognizable than most, and given her posting history her new user name added to the overall picture before the ban was even made.
Not that it matters, I guess. In the end it's not really a good idea to circumvent a ban by creating a new account.
I completely agree. Some of her posts became increasingly disturbing and strangely obsessive. While I feel I'm pretty open-minded, it really felt like some of her subject matters had no place on a forum like this.singerguy04 wrote:Jackoleen's posts seemed to build off of one another become more and more sexually aggressive, obscene, and strange. Yea but, I think Jackoleen legitimately truly had sexual fantasies for cartoon characters and was highly sexual and wanted to talk to people about it, hoping they would share her interest.
Remember she said she was highly religious and her family was too and she said she tried to starve herself to punish herself over her "abnormal thoughts" in an attempt to make herself normal? She said it didn't work and I'm glad that she came to be herself even though here is not the best place to do it, except to talk about her other subjects like those versions of fairy tales she wrote.
I believe her story because I know she also had a weird thing with food and I just don't think some troll would make up something like that.
I pmed her right at the time she left saying that I hoped she could find people she could talk about all her rather "unique" desires and thoughts with, but she didn't pm me back and now I'm not sure if she was hoping for a fresh start or really didn't give a damn or she actually was a troll.
