The Merida doll is how Ariel should have been...teal dresses with that red hair. Though if Ariel had a more purplish pink dress it would've been lovely.
By the way, Merida is a Pixar princess. She can't be a Disney princess. Disney owns Pixar, but they also own the Muppets and ABC. They wouldn't make a Muppet or ABC news caster a princess.

I'll betcha Disney proves you wrong when Merida merchandise is labeled with the Disney Princess label.Disney Duster wrote:By the way, Merida is a Pixar princess. She can't be a Disney princess. Well, she can't be an official princess without a prince.SWillie! wrote:I'll betcha Disney proves you wrong when Merida merchandise is labeled with the Disney Princess label.Disney Duster wrote:By the way, Merida is a Pixar princess. They could finally get the more annoying feminists off their backs about the fact that they always have princesses ending up with love interests.Well, they will get their wish with Merida who's main relationship is with her mother.
I think that would also make them happy.Until they find something that they will nitpick and wangst about.

A princess can either be born, or she can be married.
Hello~
A princess is either a princess because she was born so, or because she married into a royal family.
Have a Disneylicious day!

Thank you, SWillie!SWillie! wrote:Hahaha what??? A girl born into royalty isn't a princess unless she has a prince??? Since when lolTsWade2 wrote: Well, she can't be an official princess without a prince.
Why does Merida need a prince? There's a bunch of other princesses and ALL of them have love interests. Why is it so important that we have another one? I think it's great that there's going to be a princess who might not have a love interest (and if she does, it will not be the focus of the story). There's no reason princess should automatically equal romance and musicals. They're people too, and have other conflicts in their lives besides the need for a spouse.

I don't think Linden had politics in mind when she said other conflicts...jazzflower92 wrote:Admittingly no one would like to do a movie about actual poltics.Because actual poltics are boring and a mix of deceit.I mean people like the title but don't like the role of the part.Besides we have enough poltical movies out there that it would just be redundant.
Princesses have other conflicts in their life like their relationship with their mother, their desire to become their own person, and huge frickin bears. None of this has anything to do with needing a prince or love interest.
Oh, I don't know. I mean, if Disney wants Merida to be an official Disney Princess, she maybe the first princess without a prince. Not that I'm complaining about it. I mean, I'm excited for this movie. I really do. It's just strange to have princess without a prince. That's just my opinion, that's all. And I'm still excited to see that movie.SWillie! wrote:Hahaha what??? A girl born into royalty isn't a princess unless she has a prince???
