Yup, as Dutch as can be.... jeweettoch 8)

What's that big box with the Genie on it? Also an art-book?

Creative solution you've come up with to 'hide' the Dutch numbering on the dvds/blu's....it's one of the reasons I don't buy Dutch Disney's. I do buy just the DIamonds and number them from 1 to however many there's going to be. I did include Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 though as number 3 and 4. Bambi is 5 etc etc.

Anyway...nice collection.

When I see everyone's collection of art books, it makes me wanna collect those as well, but I barely have room for just the few dvd's I have, let alone such a huge stack of books. I did see some nice ones At WDW, but still... :)

I did buy the Disney Treasures though, as it deals with multiple movies in one book, but mostly Walts life. Is there a Definitive Book that just deals with the movies?

It's a nice companion piece, but in terms of pictures it doesn't offer anything you'll haven't seen before..

The Genie box is the Aladdin deluxe video edition, eye candy on the outsideInside there's a litho, soundtrack and video... As far as the blurays are concerned you were right to spot certain Dutch ones, which I altered to keep them in line with my other, mostly US- editions I import from Amazon.. I dislike disorderI can't stand the continuous change in logo's/layout/font/embossing and slipcovers.. It makes me double-dip sometimes just for the packagingI'm a real sicco when it comes to packaging, For instance, I own several Lion King bluray-editions (and that's excluding the steelbook case and part 1 1/2 +2 which I will repurchase come releaseday)to match with the rest of my collection...I plan on getting only english/us editions this time around to get every title as Walt intended! Don't worry, It took me ten years to assemble my collection, you'll get there

What's the giant Beauty and the Beast one? Another VHS special edition?

*edit - Just saw your first post on the last page - VERY nice collection. I love all these giant things - I've only ever seen the Snow White one! Where do they all come from? I'd love to see a picture of all of them together.

I remember when those came out and not being able to afford them! Only the specialty stores had them back in the day, and they were typically $75-$100 at the time.

How long have you been collecting for, Reinier? And never polite to ask, but what's your age?

I had so many Disney stuff when I was younger, I had ALL the toys from a lot of the 80s and 90s movies, cassettes, soundtracks, Happy Meal Toys, VHS and special VHS boxes...and sold it all when I was 12 for practically nothing. Just recently I cleaned out my parents basement and found a couple of Disney VHS and movie comics. That's basically all that's left from my childhood...haha....

Just a couple of years ago, I decided to buy DAC on dvd and that's basically all I'm buying now. I don't know, I still feel 'weird' sometimes to like Disney as a 28th year old guy. I mean, it's okay to like Disney, but I really like it....almost like a little kid. Maybe it's me deperately trying to keep the child in me or my imagination alive...

Don't mind me, I'm just rambling....:)

You can ask me anything you like! I've been collecting for about sixteen years.. I will be 26 come June.. I mostly get my stuff online, though I frequently visit certain shops to check if I haven't missed out on anything

I doubt they meant to use the eyeroll. Probably a different smiley was intended. At least, I hope so.

The eyerolling was for the multiple versions of some movies in the pics, which are completely unnecessary and a waste of money.

If reyquila is intending to build up a separate collection for each kid, then the multiple versions could be justified. But he has not said that's the case, and if that's not the case, then the continual double-triple-fourth dips are completely out of line.

out of line?

I think you are the one who's out of line. Even if reyguila were to buy 124747 versions of the same film, what's it to you?

We all joked that reyquila is the biggest Disney in the forums, but yeah the comment was out of line. If YOU think double or triple diping is bad then more power to you, but to indirectly insult a poster because he did it that's is uncalled for. reyquila is a grown adult that can do whatever he wants with his money. So to tell him what he should do and how to do it is unnecesary.

In other words, if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all. It's a very simple lesson yet VERY easy to forget...

It's completely dumb and unnecessary, that's what.

He's "hoarding," not collecting. Besides, who's going to be stuck with it all someday? The kids. Not to mention the fact that all those retreads take up space that he could use for other things. You're right that his habits don't personally effect me, but I still think it's stupid.

I have no interest in getting into an argument with you, Patrick, so kindly back away.
