As many of you know, the search function has not been working properly for quite some time. Whether this will be resolved or not remains unknown. In the meantime, I've found a way to bypass the glitch and perform a search successfully.
• First, always be as specific as possible. For example, if you're looking for a thread about the Blu-ray release of Aladdin, do not enter in the search box just "Aladdin" but "Aladdin Blu-ray".
• Always use quotation marks when you enter key words.
• Select the appropriate "Forum" category.
• Select the option "Search for any terms or use query as entered".
• If you come up with a large amount of search results, go back the re-do the search but this time select the option "Search for all terms"
• The search results then will be significantly reduced and more accurate.
• For finding specific posts instead of topics, simply select the "Posts" option in the "Display results as" category.
That's it. I hope this works for you.

Adding the quotations hasn't changed a thing for me. I just did a try of this both with and without quotations. Both of these for BOTH options "search for any terms of use query as entered" and "search for all terms." Got the exact same number of matches/finds. The quotations aren't necessarily. Though I was sure hoping that that's all that would be needed to get this stupid search to search for topic titles EXCLUSIVELY. No such luck.

I sent an E-mail to Luke about the search engine getting fixed:
So then he sent me back this response:Hi Luke. I remember you said the search engine was hopefully going to be fixed by the end of January, I think? Well anyway, I was just wondering what was going on with that, because the search engine is one of the most important parts of the site, I think a lot of members think so too. I was just wondering what was going on with that now that January's over and it's still a dilema.
The person who was supposed to upgrade the forum for us never responded to me. For now, I'd recommend using the site search and including forum in your queries:
