I think a Pied Piper film would be an ideal way for Disney to re-launch their fairy-tale inspired animated films.Choco Bear wrote:this is a thread for u to suggest ideas for new disney movies(real or animted) they can be ur own ideas or adapted from other things and what not i thoiught it could be fun![]()

I think such a film would have lots of potential - it would be easy to make a story about a musician into a musical, lots of potential for interesting, amusing characters, potential for lots of animated animals (a staple of Disney films) and lots of potential for humour.
I know Disney is kicking around a Rapunzel idea.... but I honestly don't think that there is enough content in the original tale to make a feature length movie out of (I thought the same about Sleeping Beauty, and in some respects I was right - Disney padded the story enormously with the three good fairies. Something I feel harms the story slightly)
That said, all I have read about Brother Bear (an original? story) leads me to believe that this will be the right film and the right time. I don't think that they could have picked a better story.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

I think that Disney should do an animated Rapunzel. The original story of Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast were heavily altered to get the story of the movie. If Disney can make a decent movie out of fairy-tales like Beauty and the Beast (can't stand the original fairy-tale) than they can do it with Rapunzel.
I think they should try and fit it with the classic fairy-tales of SW, Cinderella, and SB. It could open and close with an ornately carved, golden storybook, have a "once upon a time..." and "...happily ever after" ending, have a beautiful heroine, uplifting songs, a witch you can really hate, and incredible animation.
Anyone else for Rapunzel?

Hansel and Gretal could be cool-they could use the Silly Symphony "Babes in the Woods" as inspiration.
I was also thinking that "The Yearling" by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings could make a good live-action movie, although I think it's already been done by another studio. And if they did do a Pied Piper, the book "After Hamlen" would be a good sequel.
AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!! They haven't even announced any plans for a Pied Piper adaptation, and here I am planning a sequel to it! Sorry everybody!

When I was a kid my friend and I always wanted to make Rupunzel for Disney and had so many different ideas (Stories, characters, songs). I think this is the best idea they've got at the moment. Apart from that I'd love to see....
*The Snow Queen
*The Princess And The Frog (this one might be a bit too much like Beast)
*Dr Jeckle and Mr Hyde (this one could have the same feel as Hunchback)
*The Magicians Nephew (The first book in the chronicles of narnia)

And as for Brother Bear I think that it does look really good but the success of it will definately lie in whether the audience like's Coda without him then the story would certainly lack a lot of heart. That said I hope it does well, and think it should at least break the 100 million mark.

How about The Tale of Tsar Saltan (filmed as a sequel to Cinderella). For those unfamiliar with the story:
http://www.dreamworks.org/dr02018.htm
The three maidens in the first paragraph could be Cinderella and her stepsisters. The story could start at the third paragraph right after Cinderella marries the prince.
Or how about another live action Popeye, a story sort of like the Popeye meets Sindbad cartoon with Ray Harryhausen monsters, The Sea Hag, Goons, The Jeep, etc. Give Robin Williams and Shelley Duvall enough money and they would do it.
