Disney's "The Snow Queen" in 2013?

This is so unfair. Ever since Dick Cook was let go, nothing has been going right and to add salt to the wound, Disney's only reviving their projects in CG because Tangled was successful. Seriously, I'm starting to get suspicious!

Well, I'm not saying it's impossible or things won't change in the future but as things are right now, it's highly improbable.

The only features which were originally envisioned as hand-drawn have been either CG-fied (Snow Queen, Clements & Musker's film) or shelved (Mickey Mouse feature.)

Yeah,you do have point but we also have to be reasonable as well because there are a lot worse things than not getting hand drawn animated movies.

Well, that does it. When I pitch my movie to them- whenever that may be-, I'm going to fight to keep the animated portion (it's going to be 2/3 animated and 1/3 live-action) hand-drawn no matter what!

But it isn't enough to keep us old school fans at bay. We need a good 2D film every two years and not have the medium forgotten.

Frankly, unless Disney makes an official announcement that will not produce hand-drawn animated films, then I will believe they're not done working in that medium.

After all, back in 2003, most of us didn't know they had finished with hand-drawn animation until the studio officially announced that yes, Home on the Range would be the last one. And then that lasted what? Two-and-a-half years?

Call me naive, but maybe the reason the next two projects are computer-animated, because the director and writer thought CGI would be the best way to visualise the worlds and their characters. I recently wrote a possible feature script for a animated film. By myself, with no studio in mind to produce it or anything. It was just me inspired to write this story, which I thought was a great idea for an animated feature. Guess what I envisioned it as? Computer animation. And I'm somebody who loves hand-drawn animation.

I also think there is an effort to make CGI movies into great stories that are not Cliche Storms or just cheap Shrek knock offs but guenine Disney movies with heart and character put into it.I think Disney espically doesn't want any of there movies to be Shrek knock offs after the fiasco that was Chicken Little.

I actually think that a lot of CGI movies are starting to become more than just pop culture junk food but from 2008 to now I have seen some pretty good CGI movies where its obvious that people have put work into it.When I talk about CGI films I am talking about non-Pixar CGI films.

I'm not happy either that Disney have stopped doing traditional animation/2D. They can do both CGI and traditional if you ask me (although I would have prefered Disney to make only 2D and Pixar to make CGI), but seeing Disney deserting traditional animation is sad. Traditional animation started it all for Disney, and it is an artform Disney should have a special responsibility to preserve and develop for the future.

I'm with you all the way regarding Alan Menken and "Frozen" being a musical, but let's hope he'll get Oscar-nominated and not Tony-nominated, Tony's are being rewarded to stage musicals on Broadway;) Not that it would hurt to see Menken get a Tony eventually...
