Wow, thanks Sotiris! :) I've been looking for this for ages. I wish it had been completed; the unfinished animation looks great already! I particularly loved the ending and the alternate approach to Mickey.

It's not a fragment but a complete short on its own albeit unfinished directed by Jack Kinney in 1951.

Here are some storyboards, a model sheet and more info on this short:

Great find, I'm sad this was not part of the "Disney Treasures."

Awesome. They should of use that as a next animated short, with a little re-write that doesn't involve being drunk.

That looks like how Mickey looked in such cartoons as "Plutopia" or even in "The Simple Things". Around that same time period.

...and since its a streaming video, when you play it, a copy is made in your cache. That .flv file then can be saved onto a shiny disc-like format in order to watch it on your television. If you don't know how a quick google search on 'how to download streaming video' will help you. Enjoy!

What a cute short! It made me think of the book The Cricket in Times Square. Chester Cricket performed concerts to give his human friend Mario's family's newstand publicity and his mouse friend Tucker appointed himself as Chester's manager. I was thinking of this before Mickey encountered the cricket making music at the end and wanted to do show business with it.

Also these people and chairs:

Yeah, a lot of the opera scene does remind me of an identical scene in the Willie the Whale scene of "Make Mine Music".

You know he's not really drunk, right? No kids will get that its a reference to that. It's just a bee acting silly on flower nectar. What makes no sense though is that the narrator says he was allergic to flowers. Isn't it extremely obvious that the bee is exactly the opposite of allergic to flowers?!

His reaction was mimicking that of an alcoholic. That was the joke. The old shorts made references to alcoholism all the time, regardless of whether the kids would "get it".

Oh don't worry I knew that part, I was just pointing out he wasn't really drunk.

Like in "How To Be a Detective" when Goofy downs a martini with a goofball in it.

Never seen this one before, this was a cartoon that it was never made. It has been kept in the Disney Vault for decades, but then they and found an existing copy of the unfinished Mickey Mouse short. This is considered an abandoned concept. I hope Disney will do a new Mickey Mouse short that has been surfaced since "Destino" where Walt and Savador Dolly did together. Let's hope if it's going to be hand drawn 2D animation, not the CG one.Disney has been doing hand drawn since "Winnie the Pooh" last year.
