Playstation Vita...Are any of you going to be getting this?

I think this looks like it will be a great system and really looking forward to it are any of you getting it...or possibly have it already as it was released in Japan already. What do you guys think of it?

Is this, like, to replace PS3? I'm a long way from even considering a replacement of my PS3. Though, I have been thinking that, if I ever could afford it and had all my furnishings bought and a TV just for the bedroom as well as the den, I might want another PS3 for the bedroom too. Of course, that'd be a long way down the road, but I am tempted since they are all slim now and stuff. I think mine was one of the last ones they did in the big style (80g). Unless they still make the big style. So annoyed I didn't buy it in time to get one that played PS2 games though.

This is a handheld device replacing the PSP, but the game quality is suppose to much closer to PS3 quality and it has a 5 inch screen. They are planning to have some games come with PS3 and Vita copies together so you can start out on PS3 at home but then take it with you on the Vita and pick up right where you left off, and vice versa.

Interesting. I have actually never owned a handheld, but that's a cool idea.

One of my friends is planning to get it.

Personally I think its too much for a handheld, and I wasn't that impressed with the PSP. With sales not doing that well in Japan, if it doesn't do good in the US, I could see Sony cutting the price on it like Nintendo did with the 3DS.

I may eventually get one, but not with the current price, etc...

the features sound amazing on paper, and the uncharted game looks rad, but i'm fine with my psp, just got a 3ds, and this one sounds too powerful. 540p?

in the end, games and money

I sold my PSP when I got iPhone thinking it would be suffice but it really does not do games well outside of casual stuff which can be fun. And have been tempted to pick up a used PSP go a few times but luckily heard about vita first and have been holding out for it.

It seems like there are quite a few people only recently hearing about it, I am surprised Sony has not hyped up it's release more, but I suppose once it is released it will start to speak/advertise for it's self. I hope it does well and gets a lot of good support from the game developers so far it seems like it will.
