Oh my goodness those pictures are the bomb!!!It only makes you wonder what the film's direction is now.Thats whats fun about movies that have been through development hell you get a lot of fun concept art.I hope that they have the obligatory talking animal sidekick in their current version.Well,if they don't talk they must have a animal sidekick that has an attitude.

Thanks Sotiris. I love the two at the bottom of the woman in the big white dress. These pictures make me feel like I need another refresher as to the story of the Snow Queen, because I have no idea where some of this stuff would fit in the story.

The only thing we know about the current version of Frozen is:
I was able to see some production art for this at SIGGRAPH this year, although they might change some things from production to final film obviously.

Gerda was a younger girl (not a teen) with dark tan/brown Caucasian skin and brown hair. Eyes were brown too. We got to see two magical old ladies, one tall, one short concocting some magic.

Why Frozen? Surely, a better name could be found.

Thanks Sotiris! Great stuff! Boggles the mind as to why one would continue in 3-d with such great preliminary 2-d at hand?

I agree that that concept art looks great but we haven't seen anything of the film that they're working on now and that might be equally as good, maybe even better.

One thing's for certain: if this concept work is anything to go by, the "Art of Frozen" book should be amazing.

OMG! They look frickin' awesome! It's too bad it's going to be CG since Disney is too chicken**** to make it into 2D hand drawn. Pardon my french.

I agree. Kai is hot; he looks almost how I pictured him when reading the story in that concept art. In CG, he'll probably turn out as bleh as Flynn.

The Snow Queen...not so much. For some reason, I always picture the Snow Queen similar to that ice queen character in one of the Sailor Moon films. Still, their take on her there is different for them, and I'd actually like them to make a villainess pretty for once.

Hey,Malificent was hot.

You know who would have rocked as being the Snow Queen, Eartha Kitt. God rest her soul she would have rocked being this villian. Why do you ask why I would have chosen her?Because do you any of you remember "Happily Ever After Fairy Tales For Every Child".Well, that series was created by Bruce W. Smith who animated for several Disney movies like Tarzan, The Emperor's New Groove, Home on the Range and The Princess and the Frog.In the Happily Ever After version of Snow Queen they set it with Inuit characters and get this they got Eartha Kitt to play the Snow Queen.

Now is that coming back to you because it should.Man,Eartha Kitt you were such a cool cat that its sad you are not here.

Because this was the comedic Shrek-like Michael Eisner backed version?

Ugh. I know! I saw a video of the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, the Emperor's New Groove adventure bit and when I heard Yzma's new voice....

Good gravy, when they say you can't top the original, I think they MEAN it! :(

That's really lovely concept work. I would have liked to have seen those designs in the movie.

.... You're kidding, right? A movie with amazing concept art like this would have been comedic in the spirit of Shrek??
