Bambi's also hard for me to get through, but not because it's boring or style over substance because it's not, it's that it's too depressing for me.

Linden that really is a rather unique list, one I'd say was odd but you actually have really good reasons for liking The Fox and the Hound so much. It is also quite obviously something to do with your likes and dislikes though.

Goliath, I'm sorry, but I don't remember finding too much to laugh at or be in suspense by when I saw the Rescuers. Someday I'd like to sit down and watch it again because maybe I wasn't fully into it since it was on TV with commercials and I walked away during then. I do like lush animation and I do like The Black Cauldron but I never thought of it as lush, though I suppose it is at least more lush in comparison to the others. I know this might sound preposterous but I forgot that even Adventures of Winnie the Pooh almost has the depressing feel I had described, unless that changes when I see it in full soon. It's so strange.

But, um...why do you think the lush animation of the 40's, 50's, and 90's was ever sometimes overdone?! WTF?! It's something that Disney is usually highly regarded and respected for!

Yeah, you should definitly watch it again. Especially the scene in which little Penny (and Bernard and Bianca) almost drowns when Medusa forces her to look for her diamond will have you at the edge of your seat. It has such a claustrophobic atmosphere, what with them trapped in a dark and gloomy cavern in a race-against-the-clock with the water slowly rising...

Have you seen the fully restored widescreen version on the newest dvd? Absolutely phenomenal. Has the look and feel of the Walt-era films.

I think it's overdone sometimes. Like in Bambi and Sleeping Beauty. It looks beautiful at first, but it can become tiring on the viewer after a while. It's too much style over substance. Sometimes less is more, like in The Rescuers, where the low-key animation perfectly fits the sober story.

This is going to be tougher than I thought, but I will give it my best stab, my opinion may vary from others, the order is rough (and of course the list could change in the future).

1. Beauty and the Beast
2. Lady and the Tramp
3. Sleeping Beauty
4. The Little Mermaid
5. The Princess and the Frog
6. Cinderella
7. The Rescuers
8. The Hunchback of Notre Dame
9. The Great Mouse Detective
10. Alice in Wonderland
11. Mulan
12. The Rescuers Down Under
13. Peter Pan
14. Fantasia
15. Lilo and Stitch
16. Oliver & Company
17. Aladdin
18. The Jungle Book
19. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
20. 101 Dalmatians

A few missed it by that much, I'm not sure if this is my final list set in stone, but for the sake of the research, I will call it as such.
