to all the other, HURRY!

Yeah, you should definitly watch it again. Especially the scene in which little Penny (and Bernard and Bianca) almost drowns when Medusa forces her to look for her diamond will have you at the edge of your seat. It has such a claustrophobic atmosphere, what with them trapped in a dark and gloomy cavern in a race-against-the-clock with the water slowly rising...Disney Duster wrote:Goliath, I'm sorry, but I don't remember finding too much to laugh at or be in suspense by when I saw the Rescuers. Someday I'd like to sit down and watch it again because maybe I wasn't fully into it since it was on TV with commercials and I walked away during then.
Have you seen the fully restored widescreen version on the newest dvd? Absolutely phenomenal. Has the look and feel of the Walt-era films.Disney Duster wrote:I do like lush animation and I do like The Black Cauldron but I never thought of it as lush, though I suppose it is at least more lush in comparison to the others.
I think it's overdone sometimes. Like in Bambi and Sleeping Beauty. It looks beautiful at first, but it can become tiring on the viewer after a while. It's too much style over substance. Sometimes less is more, like in The Rescuers, where the low-key animation perfectly fits the sober story.Disney Duster wrote:But, um...why do you think the lush animation of the 40's, 50's, and 90's was ever sometimes overdone?! WTF?! It's something that Disney is usually highly regarded and respected for!
