I found something spectacular to share!
It's layers of paper!
Here's the link ( http://britsketch.blogspot.com/2011/01/ ... -that.html ) to the post on the creator's blog that shares the story of this masterpiece and close-up photos. I'm totally going to follow this woman's blog!
Wow, that cover is pretty much breathtaking. So therefore, as you guys said, no way on earth will Disney give us that !!!
Though mind you, the French Special Exitions from a few years back were almost as good as that. Especially the Cinderella Special Edition single disc release.
That is a REALLY good cover! Finally someone drew a NEW pose for her and made it a really, REALLY good one that really tells what the film is about while still only using one character and one background in a simple yet effective and beautiful design. Impressive. That person needs to be commended, where did you find that? I feel like her hair should be longer and more flowy but that's it!
The only thing I don't like is the sketch on the back. It's a nice idea but it wrecks continuity. A sketch of Ariel floating in the same environment a colored and shaded Ariel is in? Doesn't make any sense. Replace that with Ursula or Sebastian or something (and then make the Ursula in the shell some other scene or character) and it's perfect!
The disc art also needs Ariel. Somewhere. How about the shadowy version of her swimming to the surface out of her grotto to the ship, the scene that I believe that background is even taken from?
To be honest, I think we have gotten a pretty good template as to what the Diamond Edition will be through the Ariel's Beginning DVD cover.
HUGE Ariel head focusing on an object with smaller characters underneath her. Probably just add in Eric (probably randomy floating on a water background) then we have our cover. OR we will possibly get two Ariels this time; main focus on mermaid Ariel, small squshed human Ariel in a bottom corner or something, like the Pocahontas Bluray.
Or it could be like the Pocahontas cover and have Ariel in all her different outfits. Mermaid Ariel, pajamas Ariel, "Tour of the Kingdom" Ariel, wedding dress Ariel, fancy dinner Ariel.
More costume changes than Madonna in Evita.

lmao a HUGE Ariel head with every character in the movie underneath...I kinda like the Diamond Edition covers thus far sans Bambi how awful was that one.
