Honestly, I've seen everyone wittering on about 3D re-releases into theatres on both here and other forums, but I've not heard of it in real life. Unsurprisingly, they don't do the showings around either Derby or Stoke, it seems.

estefan wrote:I checked the listings for this Friday's shows and disappointedly, Beauty and the Beast didn't get a 2-D screening. The Lion King was in 2-D for the first showing and then 3-D for the rest of the day. But, it looks like they're only offering Beauty and the Beast in 3-D.

Is this the case for everybody else, too?
Beauty and the Beast has both options here. 6 3D showings, and 3 2D showings.

The Lion King was completely different. They only had about 5 or 6 showings total, and only 1 2D everyday (the first showing).

no depth map examples this time? We got some for the Lion King but not this. I like seeing that kind of thing. Its hte only way to see what kind of depth we'll get without being able to see the 3D first hand.

^^ I love Angela Lansbury!! She is great to her fans. I sent her a huge beautiful old magazine from 1949 with her on the cover and she signed it for me. Just got it yesterday too, so really excited!!

SO, who is all going to see Beauty and the Beast 3D?????? I will most likely see it on Tuesday, weather permitting. It is my favorite of all Disney Animated Films.

It's been a long time since I have stopped in here. I hope everyone is doing well! :)

I'll be going tomorrow or Sunday night. I already own BatB on 3D Blu-ray (it looks great) so I'm more excited about the Tangled short.

I'm leaving to see it in about a half hour:) So excited, I have never seen it on the big screen before, I was only a few months old when it came out originally.

Did anyone know about this? Is this on the 3D Blu-ray of the movie?

Due to lack of funds, I couldn't see it opening weekend. I'll have enough to go on Tuesday, It will probably be $7 at AMC. Hopefully I can see it more than once.

Yes, it's on the 3D blu-ray. I posted about it a while back, in this thread I think. It looks beautiful, especially the last shot of Prince Adam's eyes while the dedication to Howard comes up..gave me chills.

Could you take a video of it or make screencaps?

The Universal action-thriller "Contraband" and Disney's 3D re-release of "Beauty and the Beast" beat expectations
Universal's Contraband, staring Mark Wahlberg and Kate Beckinsale, and Disney's 3D re-release of Beauty and the Beast both overperformed on their first day out.

I saw it on Friday (opening day here in US). Great moviegoing experience for me, since I'd never seen Beauty and the Beast in theaters. The 3D wasn't as impressive as The Lion King but of course it's still a fantastic movie and I am so glad I finally had the chance to see it on the big screen!

No Human Again, also a plus. :)

I was a little disappointed actually still I had a great time. There were lots of people there at the 9:30 PM show (and a few crying kids but it's sort of to be expected). It was fantastic to finally see it in that setting. It's one of my favorites that I missed in IMAX and was too young to see in 1991 being negative four days old and all the day it opened. :P

I was disappointed as well that they did not include it, but since it's not on the 3D disc, I'm not surprised.

I'll probably be seeing this tomorrow.

I just have one question about it, how are the colors? I think remember hearing that they were better (ie darker than recent releases, even if not quite right) than the blu ray version, but somehow I doubt it.

Interesting that 'Human Again' wasn't included ... I just sort of accepted it as part of the film now. Is there a reason it was left of the 3D cinema and Blu release ?

cause they were bored of converting it? :P
no seriously, they'd have to remaster in 3D both versions of the film, the original + the IMAX version with the Human Again sequence and the new backgrounds. I hope they include it in a future release.
