Promotional "Snow White" art from 1993

Post by DancingCrab »

Hey peeps,

Question.. I have been looking for a while now for (as much as I can find) images of a redesigned Snow White that were used during her final theatrical run. Some of these were on posters as well as various merchandise, but the ONLY image I can seem to track down is the tab from the CD soundtrack rerelease at the time (see below)

Anyone know who the artist was, or where I can find more?

Image

Thanks! :)

The re-design of her is a much prettier and better design of her. I wish her hair and dress looked much more like this design in the movie, and her face a little bit, too.

The re-design was done by some Disney artist named Sandra Bhardwaj, who knows where she is now. Someone said people complained about Snow White having boobs so the new Disney Princess design of Snow White is in between hers and the original. Hers is still better, though I would have kept Snow White's waist and chest about the same in the Disney film to show women don't have to look like that to be beautiful, and she's only 14!

Aaaaand here's this picture showing her re-design of the Witch...also better than the original in ways!

Here.

Thank you so much Disney Duster :)

I used to have a poster of that image of her sitting with animals on her lap, that was beautifully painted (like the CD cover), and kills me that it got destroyed. It was so pretty.

edited to ad...after a little more searching, I found the poster on ebay. YAY!!!

that image of the dwarfs in a pyramid is what i have tattooed on my leg. the tattoo artist that did it did an awesome job, despite being hunched
over for 9 hours over 3 days, lol.

i get stopped quite a bit when im wearing shorts so people can count them. they seem to think theres one missing.

Thanks for the poster! I also fixed my original post I forgot one picture I had. I really love her with the animals, painted so beautifully...in such a more beautiful design!

sunhuntin, that's cool, and the guy got this style of the character's right, too? If so that's amazing!

Gosh all those images bring back so many memories !

I never even noticed her chest before until now....never bothered me, clearly.

And that is awesome about your tattoo ! Extremely painful ...?

hope this works! this is my tattoo... i think he did amazingly well with it, given the position he was stuck in. its on my lower right leg. sorry for the poor photo, but its a hard angle to capture yourself. lol.

atlantica... it didnt hurt so much, but theres a pile of nerves under the skin there and the needle kept triggering them, so my artist nearly got kicked in the face quite a few times. in saying that, the endorphines i get from tattoos was heaps less after that one. my most recent only took about 2 hours or so, and i didnt get a happy buzz afterwards.

edit: after looking again, theres a couple of differences between the original and my ink, just small things.

Ah, those are the Snow White designs I was discussing in another thread. I really love those! I have a trading card set with stills from the movie and character art, and the character art is a lot of those same images from the first post. I think that Snow White redesign is really gorgeous!

I've been searching for this pictures some years! This are the artworks that I remember from my childhood. I even had a PVC figurine of Snow White with this design.

Thank you for bumping this thread, Thumper_93! I don’t want to say I prefer this redesign over the original, since I love the original artwork, but making her look physically more mature does make me more comfortable with the romance in the story.

My favorite thing to look at with Disney Princess artwork growing up was the pleats in the dresses. I still find something almost hypnotic about it… I don’t know what that’s about! lol

My favorite is the last one with the Prince and SW on the horse together. Sweet. The Prince was the only Walt Prince I liked, always loved the design. But I do like Phillip's design when he's in the dancing outfit from the end of that film, too.

I grew up with Snow White merch from this era. I had some sticker playset with a backdrop of the cottage and mines and a log connecting the two. You could put stickers of Snow White and the dwarfs and animals on the playset and move them around.

Very nostalgic so thank you for sharing.

My favorite thing was always Cinderella's puffy bustle, but then, yeah, the pleats!
