Glad to see that this film is finally going to happen. We've been talking about it for HOW many years on here now? Heh, actually I haven't been on here for a while.. but I read an article with a headline about Disney's "Frozen" and I thought, "Frozen? well, Disney loves their one word titles these days, we must finally be getting Snow Queen!"

Back in 2000 when my husband worked for ABC Online, he rode the train to Burbank and became friends with a few of the Disney animators. A few dinners and conversations later, I had some backdoor insights and peeks at Snow Queen which were fascinating. To sum up: It was nothing like the fairy tale, at all. There was a Snow Queen. That's it. If the plot had been described to me without any preface I wouldn't have ever placed it as the HCA tale.

Then Disney needed to layoff employees to make its year end numbers--which included those animators and my husband--and Snow Queen was tabled yet again. ABC was in the state that NBC is in today and Disney itself wasn't doing much better. VSPs (voluntary severance packages) were the topic of conversations, not The Snow Queen. I've lost count how many times the project has been tabled.

Hi Guys, long time reader, first time poster (I tried to register 2 years ago, but account never ever got activated  ) lol

Anyway, from the sounds of things, it seems like Disney are pulling a Tangled, i.e. taking away the female aspect from the title (no emphasis on The Snow Queen).

I've read that it will be in CGI.

Oh well, I can't wait, I was SO disappointed when this got "put on ice" (no pun intended  )

Damnit, DisneyGuy220987, you resurrected the ice puns! Super Aurora, do you have anymore Mr. Freeze clips from Batman & Robin so that we can "cool" this thread down?

Has anyone posted this site? It is the computer animated movie from INLAY film and Wizart Animation, which will be presented in Russia this Christmas in 2012. And it is called, "Snow Queen," besides, "Frozen."

The animation is annoying beyond comprehension. Can they keep a frame still? I get motion sickness from watching it.

Very poorly executed in this day and age.

This is the thread that we discuss on first before Disney's, "Frozen (The Snow Queen)," 2013 (http://www.dvdizzy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=29405).

When I look at the animation of, "Snow Queen," from Wizart Animation and INLAY film, from Russia, why do I get the feeling that it is Disney behind this? What if Disney made a deal with Wizart to complete their production, and present it in Russia first before America? What if Disney wanted Wizart to complete it for them, because Disney does not want to waste any more money with their animators since their version of, "The Snow Queen," now called, "Frozen," was in production for the past 10 years? That would be a strategy to help conserve money for Disney animators. Ridiculous theory I know, but the way I see the animation done looks like it was done with Disney's, "Rapunzel (Tangled)," from Disney, in America, more than Wizart or other animation studios that have their animated movies distributed by INLAY film, from Russia.

I have NO idea why you get that feeling.

The animation in that Russian production looks pre-A Bug's Life. It's dated and I have seen student films that look 500 times more professional. You should take a closer look there.

Hahah I think you're being a tad harsh. It's not THAT bad.

However, it is CERTAINLY not on par with the animation in Tangled, as you seem to think Polizzi.

A thousand apologies for presenting this to you, but these are images from, "Snow Queen," from Wizart and INLAY besides Disney...or is it.

I will say this: What Wizart is doing will NOT stop Disney from doing their version of, "The Snow Queen (Frozen)." For example, DreamWorks Animation created their version of, "Puss in Boots," after one company from a foreign nation created their version of, "Puss in Boots." I do not know which country, but each of their versions tell a different story. Let us hope that Disney's version is different compared to Wizart's, but I guarantee that Disney's version will be more enchanting than Wizart's.

Well, here's hoping it will be a musical and that they'll get Alan Menken. Although I'm still having my doubts; especially about the latter.
As long as they get another lyricist than Glenn Slater, it should be fine.

But if it is going to adhere to the Tangled template, then the movie won't be as dramatic as the source material implies that it is.

Eh, what disney movie is?

I think Frozen will be good, but not at all what it could have been. Like Tangled, it'll fall short of whatever crazy expectations people have right now, so I'm lowering mine personally. And I say this in spite the fact that tangled had some of the best 3d human animation Ive seen to date. I just think they need to stray further from this safe little Disney box that they force themselves into.
