Merry Christmas!! I don't post here that often, but I read almost everyday.
My mother insisted on displaying my Christmas presents as such after I opened them all.

My other love, besides Disney, is Hallmark ornaments. A lot of the ornaments are Disney, but there are some Star Wars, Harry Potter, and other random ornaments in there too.
The Disney movies are Muppets Christmas Carol (finally upgraded to dvd!), Prep & Landing, Winnie-the-Pooh, and Cars 2. Also got The Office Season 3 and HP7.2.
Because I'm still in college, I only got small gifts for my family.
My brother and sister-in-law got a "Our First Christmas Together" ornament.
My dad got a Michael Scott bobble head (which he loves).
My mom got The Wizard of Oz.

We gave out to various members of the family:
~Wooden headphones
~A Roku
~A "Creepy Cute" crochet book
~Scrapbook paper
~A fancy coffee set from Starbucks
~A pocketknife/utensil set
For Rey's family:
~a flatscreen TV with a built-in DVD player
* * *
Besides the matching earrings and necklace set I mentioned in another thread, I got:
~A watch
~A baby blanket hand-crocheted by MIL
~A shirt that says, "love is a battlefield" (suits me perfectly!)

~A cute hot chocolate/mug/s'mores set
~A cute ice cream bowl set
~And biggest of all, after being without my car since August due to various other priorities getting in the way, we were finally able to get the engine replaced.
We had it towed last week and it was ready for us to pick up yesterday, what timing!

We had a great time last night! We have dinner on Christmas Eve and stay up until midnight for presents, which allows us to sleep in on Christmas morning.

Rey's sister is pregnant right along with me so next year we'll have some new family members to celebrate with.

As I think I mentioned in a previous thread, this year my friends and I gave each other money to buy whatever we wanted before the day. How this works is we buy on each others' Amazon or eBay (whichever we have)- then the presents are sent to their house and they wrap. It's sort of like Secret Santa only you know what you're getting. It's just a mystery whether it comes in time for Chrismtas or not. I'm happier than hell because out of everyone- I got the most stuff. This year, I jetted off to spend the 3-day weekend with a friend I never get to see and - get this - most of what she wanted for Christmas was actual Christmas decorations. I got her that dancing Snoopy which we all know is so awesome and light up Frosty's, Santa, Rudolph. A really nice Elvis shirt (which was pretty expensive). A fleece blanket. Some really interestingly painted pliers. A gift certificate to the local pet store. The Warner Archive 2-disc DVD of The Deliberate Stranger. And an mp3 player. (This is where all my money goes which I don't spend all year.) Her sister-in-law took me shopping to show me what she picked out. I gave some money to her husband to get her earrings that he knew she wanted. I got a file cabinet from him (so I'd be her secret santa in this arrangement and her husband was mine). He got a lot of clothes. Sports stuff, boots, scarf, pants, Pirates of the Caribbean. He picked out the sports related things and a friend of hers bought for him. (This all might sound like a bizarre arrangement but
I guess combined the total for everyone was about $350 (not including stocking stuffers). Here's what I've got (or got coming, a few things haven't arrived) for $350.
Disney Animated:

Sleeping Beauty and Fox and the Hound were Used and in amazing condition, Bambi and Cauldron were brand new, Lady and the Tramp sadly was used but in wretched condition. The 2nd disc plays fine (far as I can tell- I haven't watched it all the way through) but the movie disc is so damaged that neither version will play without freezing and skipping sections of the movie and pixelating, etc. So, now I have to keep watching the bootleg version (which ironically has a non-working Disc 2). The seller gave me an automatic full refund and told me I could keep it. So, thankfully now I have a real working Disc 2 (it's about time!).
Other
(I just HAD to talk about this one separately: )

I really want the 3-Disc edition from years back but I had the notion to check around on amazon. This 2-disc version was available for $4.49 and that's all you paid if you had $25 total in your cart- no shipping charges. And they give you a 48 hour online rental. I got all that for $4.49. Now the price is up to $7.99.

(About Inferno: Special Edition) Haven't made it all the way through yet but... WOW is this an improvement over my old Anchor Bay disc in terms of sound. SO much sharper and more dynamic. I just wish Blue Underground would distribute more movies that I want to see get this kind of treatment. God knows Tenebre and Phenomena needs a sonic reboot.

I also got about 5 sets of shirts and shorts (because I never buy new pants- I wear the same few pairs forever), special folders that slide into the cabinet, another box of manilla folders, WAY too much candy (certainly more than I ate during Halloween- you should see the bag of M&M's she got me, bigger than my head), a package of "crazy" straws (you should see what a nut I am for those things- I never throw away colored straws, I actually keep a small collection in my bedroom), and a new remote control for my Emerson DVD player.

I had a wonderful Christmas...
On Christmas Eve, me and my boyfriend went to his parents, where we don't "do" gifts, just enjoy a nice meal together. We did buy toys for my bf's nephew and niece though.
After that, we went to my mother and stepfather. We gave them a framed picture of me and my bf @ DIsneyWorld, taken last October.
Sunday, we went to my bio-dad and his family. Where we mostly received gift cards, so now we have 170 euro worth of gift cards
A good friend gave us Tarot cards.
I gave my boyfriend the following presents:
- The Lion King (Diamond Edition Blu-Ray+DVD combo)
- Dominion (base set card game)
- Dominion: Hinterlands (expansion card game)
he gave me:
- Beauty And THe Beast: The Echanted Christmas (Special Edition DVD)
- Beauty And The Beast: Belle's Magical World (Special Edition DVD)
- The Lion King (Diamond Edition DVD)
- Small World: Grand Dames (Board Game Expansion)
- Small World: Cursed (Board Game Expansion)
- Small World: Be Not Afraid (Board Game Expansion)
- Small World: Necromancer Island (Board Game Expansion)
- Carcassonne: Winter Edition (board game)
And now I have a headache from drinking too much champagne for three days...

With the loss of my dad and my mom's illness, my little sis relocating, older sis with child, and myself TRYING to relocate, money was TIGHT this year. We had agreed on no presents, which would be a first to us. usually, we are heavy on the Christmas presents. However, my mom still wanted something under the tree, and I believe she did a lot of wrapping up still packaged things she found around the house.
For example, I believe the socks and pair of gloves I received were my dads, but items he had never unpackaged.
I'm not complaining, just saying that we weren't working from Christmas lists this year. Lord knows, I rarely get cold, so it is unlikely anyone would purchase gloves for me, ha. Then again, they have in the past, ha, but this package was from the early 80's.
I also received a lotto ticket, but it was a dud.
A friend who works at JC Penny got me one of those free Mickey snowglobes.
What else,... um, my main gift was some very helpful cash from my mom, as well as the Blu-Ray of Green Lantern.
I also got a Frank Sinatra CD, a Christmas CD of the more churchy carols (at least that is different from my many other Christmas albums, which I think almost all include Eartha Kitt singing Santa Baby, ha), and... oh, a bit of cash from my grandparents.
I could be forgetting something, but I think that's everything. It was definitely much more than I expected, and overall, with or without presents, I had a surprisingly nice Christmas this year, and it was a lot of fun. It was all too short, but for two days I spent some really quality time with my mom and younger sister. Not that I don't spend a lot of time with them in general, ha, but not very often all of us together these days just relaxing or doing fun activities.
