What do you know? Are you working at the Disney Studios> If you're not, what do you know? I want Disney to do hand drawn movie of Mickey, DOnald, and Goofy, so Disney can make hand drawn tv series for Disney Channel. Even though they have no plot yet. So, what do you know? Are you trying to make us miserable and go crazy and say something mean to Bob Iger?Sotiris wrote:Anonymous #1 wrote:Is the Mickey Mouse feature still in development or has it been axed? I've read elsewhere that executives feel that a 'Mickey Mouse' feature would be very risky for the company because if it underperformed it would be detrimental for Disney's image (since Mickey is the icon of the company and of its sub-divisions) and it would negatively impact the Mickey Mouse franchise (which is Disney's #1 franchise in sales).

'Pooh' is not as a big franchise as 'Mickey' and thus they are more willing to take risks with it. Besides the new Winnie the Pooh movie was created specifically to rejuvenated the 'Pooh' franchise whose sales were eradicating year by year. However, the 'Mickey Mouse' franchise doesn't have that problem so there's no reason to jeopardize that with a feature film. I'm not saying I agree with them; I'm just explaining how they're thinking.DisneyJedi wrote:Did any of the Pooh movie's underperformances (if any of them DID underperfom) deter the image of Winnie the Pooh and his friends?

Okay, are you saying this, as your opinion or you're saying it that they might officially cancel that idea so they can keep doing MickeyMouse Clubhpuse for the next hundred years of misery?Sotiris wrote:'Pooh' is not as a big franchise as 'Mickey' and thus they are more willing to take risks with it. Even if they did go ahead and made a 'Mickey Mouse' feature, they still might not use hand-drawn animation but CG. Either way, a hand-drawn feature film does not mean it will translate into a hand-drawn TV series. (Just look at the new hand-drawn Winnie the Pooh film; it was not followed by a new hand-drawn series but by a live-action/CG hybrid one).TsWade2 wrote:Okay, are you saying this, as your opinion or you're saying it that they might officially cancel that idea so they keep doing Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for the next hundred years of misery?
'Mickey Mouse Clubhouse' is doing very high ratings, so much so that they've created two spin-offs ('Minnie's Bow Toons' and 'Minnie's Bow-Tique Hotel'). They have clearly invested in CG Mickey and they wouldn't want to jeopardize that by authoring another 'Mickey' series in a different medium.

Oh, come on!!! What's it gonna take to convince them that we want a hand-drawn Mickey Mouse movie?!Sotiris wrote:Even if they did go ahead and made a 'Mickey Mouse' feature, they still might not use hand-drawn animation but CG. Oh look, what have we here?
Someone on TAG has an opinion and what that person is making a request about the future Mickey Mouse movie. Let's hear what he or she has to say:
Ah ha! Sounds like people are argeeing with us for wanting our Mickey Mouse movie to be hand drawn. So.....SNAP!

I keep hearing rumors about a Mickey Mouse feature in the works. Wouldn't that HAVE to be hand-drawn, at least partially, for it to work at all?
(Never mind Mickey Mouse Playhouse. The CG model of Mickey in that show is cute and all, but the public thinks of Mickey in 2D, mostly because that's how he appears on merchandising. A completely CG Mouse movie wouldn't appeal to the public at all IMO).
And Floyd, your crack about Lion King is spot-on. Its success made Robert-"Let's-buy-Marvel-and-Avatar-because-our-own-stuff-won't-cut-it-anymore"-Iger look pretty goddamn stupid.

You act like you hate me, I don't know why and I'm pretty fucking sick of it! Each opportunity you get, you use it as a way of insulting me. I mean, really. How would you feel if the roles were reversed and I was constantly trolling YOU?
