Any Europeans on this forum?

Post by drfsupercenter »

I thought I'd ask this here because I know there's a fair amount of overseas people on here.

Basically, I'm looking for the original SingStar game, the one for PS2. Why? It's the only game in the series which has isolated vocals, so in other words every song on the disc has both an instrumental and a capella version and that's just awesome.

The game wasn't released in America at all.

There are five versions: UK, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy. Here's a list of the songs:

I have managed to get the UK, Germany, and France versions from their respective Amazon sites (stupid overseas shipping)

However, amazon.it and amazon.es only have imported versions from either Germany or the UK which is really stupid given that they each have their own versions.

So my only real option is to ask people in those countries to check secondhand shops etc. I'd be willing to re-imburse whomever manages to get a copy. I don't even need the disc, just an ISO file (and PS2 games are regular DVDs so you can pop them in your computer and rip, pretty easy)

Any help would be appreciated, I really want all 5 and it's not getting any easier to find as time goes on.

This is what the cover looks like (I think, I bought used ones that just came in jewel cases)

Hmm...I live in Europe (Holland, next to Germany) and know of the Singstar games. However, all the ones I played...can't remember they having acappella versions.

Yeah, I've never played the games but they're stored on the disc that way. I believe the way it works is that if you don't sing or you miss phrases, it mutes the vocals, rather than the other way around.
