I just want to first comment on Enigmawing's post with TonyWDA's youtube response. I actually disagree with his comments on how the crystal possibly removed the Atlantean's knowledge of reading/writing. That is a bit of a stretch imo.

Moving on, I watch Nostalgia Critic, NChick and Linkara's 'History of Power Ranger's reviews mainly. I also enjoy Bad Movie Beatdown and Obscurus Lupa, but they do tend to review some stuff that I don't know/haven't seen so there's little point in watching those. Of course NChick and NCritic also review stuff I haven't seen as well.

I think one of my favorite reviews was the NChick/NCritic reviewing Fern Gully, but that's just off the top of my head.

Lazario, I'll get back to you someday. Right now I'm really really busy drawing my comic now. But i'll be happy to reply to you at some point.

i think the primary reason for criticisms of young simba is different ideals of how kids should behave. I personally dont see a downright unlikable brat, but an otherwise normal kid who happens to be a bit cocky and spoiled. it doesnt mean he's a brat.

Much obliged! :D
Apologies if the "God bless" bothered you; never mean to force any sort of belief on anyone. Otherwise, I'd have said WAY more than that on a video that had nothing to do with it. :P
Anywho , thanks again!

I'm not going to lie, I felt this one was kind of a stretch, too. But then again, so is the fact that Altanteans formed every single language to have ever existed, and that they'd already been around for hundreds -- thousands of years by the time the crew had reached the city.

The whole crystal-amnesia thing should be considered in terms of the film's logic. Take it out of context and of course it's going to sound ridiculous. But given the things that'd already taken place in the film (Kida's mother being lost to some sort of Atlantean-crystal-netherworld, among the other bits I just mentioned) it isn't that far-fetched. Again, it's all a part of that artistic license the crew took when they made the film. I'm more than sure they had moments where they threw their hands in the air and said "Screw logic! Let's make an awesome sequence."

Case and point: the climax. Pretty epic scene, but one that brings up a few things to question. How did Helga survive a, presumably, 300-ft fall? Why did Rourke transform into some sort of crystal-beast when he'd been cut with a shard of glass containing the energy? How on earth did Cookie activate his flying fish without a crystal?

See what I mean?

Finally, a worthy review of The Worst Witch:

Skip the first 6:30 unless you like the minions sketches more than I do, which I kinda don't. I'm still not up on the Harry Potter references or why anyone would care but importantly, she treats the film with more respect than Lindsay did.

1) For Helga it's presumed 300 feet, but perhaps they weren't high enough yet to make it a killing fall?

2) For Rourke it's quite possible he transformed either because either A) The crystal has that result when it mixes with someones blood during the cut. Then there's also B) It has that result on a non-Atlantean person taking the magic into the body (Again via the cut/bloodstream)

3) Cookie could always just be a bad "Rushed through it" and they missed showing or adding the crew getting crystals to power their machines.

1 and 2 are of course large stretches :)

I just saw that one yesterday. Typical with Baz Luhrmann movies, I sat through about a minute of it before turning it the frig off. I live for style in movies but I'm not that cheap and brainless. Critic was right, Chick was right when she was mad, the "guilty pleasures" thing... Well, since I don't have any guilt for my pleasures, I'm not buying it this time.

I watched and found the Nostalgia Critic's review of The Grinch (2000) to be amusing. It was also interesting how he did the whole review in rhyme (Similar to the Angry Video Game Nerd's Christmas Special last year, but I am getting ahead of myself and off-topic here). I forgot how much Ron Howard destroyed such a classic and timeless story with such pointless raunchy humor (i.e., The Grinch landing in the woman's breasts, having the mayor kiss his dog's ass in his sleep).

I finally got around to watching the Moulin Rouge Nostalgia Critic. Man, that was fantastic! That's gotta be the best online review I can recall having seen! Granted, I don't currently watch the other reviewers besides Critic, Snob, and AVGN. I do need to start watching Nostalgia Chick. God, she's hot. But, I get the impression she hates Disney princess movies on principle, which will definitely get under my skin. Everything about this review was awesome though, and I kind of agree with everything. I do enjoy that movie, but mainly just because it's bizarre and the songs are good. Of course they're good, they're songs we already loved. *sigh*
