This is my first time getting one from DMR. hope it arrives okay. I own a few others. The first one I got was their first sculpture ever, which was a Jiminy Cricket one. I got it "free" for joining the Walt Disney Collector's Society in high school, which was basically a collector's club for those sculptures as they were being introduced. I didn't know that when I joined as a kid with not much money. I thought it was something like what we have today in D23, a sort of Disney extreme fan club. Anyways, needless to say, I couldn't afford any of the sculptures that year that I was a member.
I later got a few off Ebay: Slue Foot Sue, which I LOVE (wish they'd do a Katrina Van Tassel!), a Magician Mickey (that surprisingly arrived in need of some repair, but looks fine now), Scrooge McDuck from Scrooge McDuck and Money, the Harp from Fun and Fancy Free, Pedro the Airplane, and I got a few from T.J. Maxx that time they had some. I didn't know about that until they only had a few left on clearance that weren't perfect. I landed Flik, Atta, and Dot from A Bug's Life, but Flik and Dot lacked their Certificates (not that I care MUCH about those), and Atta needed a wing reattached. Also got the Magic Mirror there. The hologram is a bit scuffed, but only visible at certain angles. Anyway, these T.J. Maxx ones only cost me 10 bucks each, an amazing deal, so I was willing to deal with these issues. I THINK that's all the WDCC sculptures I have so far, I could be forgetting something. But, yeah, I'm replacing my toy collection with these a bit at a time, except for the Toy Story ones. I have the toy replicas, and that makes more sense.
Too hard to save up for these on DMR though, ha. I would love that Mulan on horseback, but no way could I save that much. Also would love the Ariel one. Could have landed that if it hadn't gone out of stock, I guess. Honestly though, any WDCC sculptures are worth having. I really want the obscure characters though, like Amos Mouse and Susie the Little Blue Coupe!

Just got the latest email and it says this:
I hope they give everyone a chance to earn double points and not a stupid contest. But with the word "chance" in there, I have a feeling it's a contest. Who knows, maybe not.Visit us every day 12/12 - 12/23
We'll bring you a daily surprise in this wonderful season of giving...including a chance to earn Double Points. Each surprise will be available that day only from 9:00 AM PT to 8:59 AM PT the following morning. To see what's new each day, visit our site and your Message Center, and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
Mark your calendar as we reward you, our valued members, and end the year with cheer! See where you'll be headed starting 12/12 .

The e-mail has the link for the 5 points for December as well.
In fairness I don't know how else they could have worded it, since "you WILL earn double points" would have been misleading, if you didn't actually have any codes of your own to enter.Barbossa wrote:I hope they give everyone a chance to earn double points and not a stupid contest. That said, I unfortunately have to agree that it'll probably be another sweepstake. Hopefully it's at least something like the mystery points email, where you're not guaranteed double points but you'll at least get a token 50 points.
that double points thing really annoys me....I finally entered (after waiting nearly a YEAR) my points code for A Christmas Carol just like a week or so ago. I got tired of waiting for double points and NOW it seems like we MIGHT be able to get some. UGH!
well, I suppose I could get a couple of Disney CDs like the new Muppets Movie soundtrack and hope for the best. Then there's Cars 2 that I still need to buy....

Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

I wish they did something like a somewhat difficult quest thing, where you would look for clues on various parts of the Disney website(s), which lead you to other clues, and possibly even to some of the flash games (most likely advertising a current movie) where you have to get a certain score for the next clue, and so on. At the end you would get whatever quantity of points they deem appropriate (based on the difficulty of the quest). I don't know, I just had this idea, and feel like it would be really fun for any DMR member, with a good reward at then end (and of course, there would be advertising across the quest for Disney's benefit).

I just got a confirmation that my Jim Shore Kermit sculpture has been shipped; it only took 3 days to ship it. DMR has never been that fast to ship me something. I guess I just got lucky! I hope it'll arrive by Christmas

Fixing Codes
It looks like they might have fixed the codes. I just tried to enter 3 different ones (12/17 (really the 16th), 12/18 and 12/25, and it said they were not live. Now I will have to remember to do two things, sign in for points.Linden wrote:^I don't think so. I just put in the codes for the 2nd, today, and all the way till the 15th, and they all worked. I didn't try the 1st, because I already have that one.
Thank you so much for the codes, Giygas!

ALL of my WDCC sculptures arrived in 4 business days via UPS (Florida). It should arrive in 3 or 4 business days at the most in Ohio (being so much closer).TheSequelOfDisney wrote:I just got a confirmation that my Jim Shore Kermit sculpture has been shipped; it only took 3 days to ship it. 15 gallon 7 pint blood donor as of 1-4-11. Done donating. Apparently having Cancer makes you kind of ineligible to donate.

So how long does it take to get points for movie tickets? I saw the Muppets on Sunday, uploaded my tickets w/the code that night. Is there a way to check the status on the site I can't find or someone to contact.
I find you pompous, judgemental, and completely self-absorbed.........would you be my friend?

It should take only a couple of days. I saw The Muppets on the Saturday after Thanksgiving and I had my points by like Wednesday or Thursday. Unfortunately, there isn't a way to check the progress.chadhobbick wrote:So how long does it take to get points for movie tickets? Someone tell me if I am wrong.
I went to see the Muppets on November 30th, which was the last day to get the "double" points for the tickets.
I was under the impression that you had to SEE the flick by the 30th, not SUBMIT your request by the 30th.
Anyway, we got back late after the movie and I put in my request the following day, making sure that the ticket date was well and clear in the picture.
I got 100 pts on Monday and sent an email asking why I didn't get double points and the CS person wrote that I didn't submit it until after the 30th.
She didn't answer my question about the date showing prominently on the ticket.
Am I wrong here? The date didn't matter, just when you submit the tickets?
So bummed.
I really want that Lilo figure coming out tomorrow and I know I will be short roughly one hundred points for it.
BUMMER!

I hate going through the online CS. they always send back a generic reply first. and if you are lucky they might respond to your question when you reply back.DrnknMstr2 wrote:Someone tell me if I am wrong.

I would call them directly. But first, did you choose the Muppets opening week option? If you saw it between the opening week dates, does it show on your tickets?

No, I didn't see anything like that.
I submitted my tickets on the 1st but my tickets clearly say 11/30...which was the last day for double points.
So bummed...although...I see the Stitch was well beyond my points anyway!
Hahahahahah...
I figured if the two Pooh and Tigger giggglers were 1300 odd points...that the solo Stitch giggler would be half...which it isn't...
Bizarre...just a few hundered points less for just one?
