Glad to hear the pictre and sound quality are decent, but very disapointed to see only the trailer included as a bonus. This makes this even less deserving of an anniversary banner than last year's Black Cauldron re-issue.

They made new bonus stuff for '82 Tron, why not this?

So I've been looking forward to this release because I had never seen this movie before and I was going to blind buy it since many people have recommended it to me.

Well now I don't have to because it's playing on SyFy right now!!! I'm so excited! :)

Tron's got the bigger fanbase and reputation, not to mention sequel tie-in.

Really disappointed about the lack of features here

I'm disappointed too that they would make such a bare-bones Blu-ray. Odds are they won't release this on a physical format again, so a wasted effort in many ways. On the other hand, it is still a slight improvement on the old DVD.

I realize "Tron" is the big Disney franchise right now of the two, but I would not mind at all if they wanted to re-boot "The Rocketeer" and maybe give that the squeals this one was meant to have. I just feel like this character has more to give then what has been done with him to date.

They edited almost seven minutes from the film on SyFy, so do yourself a favor and buy this movie when it comes to Blu-ray.

Also the movie was not shown in its OAR, it was compressed for television.

If you have an HDTV you will be impressed with how much better this movie looks instead of on a television screen.

Sure this is a 'bare-bones' release, but it is a release and it will be in its OAR for the first time ever.

I will try to be first in line at Best Buy when this comes to Blu-ray.

I understand Tron's a bigger franchise, but it already had a wealth of bonus content prepared for it. Disney could have easily said "forget it" and not done anything, especially since the trip to the archives featrette was exclsive to Tron '82's Blu-ray and didn't really do anything to push the new Tron like the other new bonus feature.

Disney could have even had Joe Johnston talk about how much he likes doing WW2 stuff and bring up Captain America to cross-promote and tie in with that, but they didn't.

Guys, I think you're all forgetting which studio is releasing the Rocketeer on Blu-Ray.

This is to be expected, in fact, they've outdone themselves, there's a trailer!

Good point, and the only reason I'm willing to upgrade for this one. If the DVD had not be compressed, I would not re-buy this film with what we are getting.

I never did purchase the DVD because of it being non-anamporhic, so I am still excited to finally own this movie as an upgrade from my pan & scan VHS. Definitely grabbing this on release day.

Forget whether there are extras or not.........I just finished watching my copy of "The Rocketeer" on Blu-ray, which I bought on sale at Target for $17.99, and it is wonderful. The picture is crisp from corner to corner, and the DTS 5.1 sound is amazing!!!

Great to see this film in its anamorphic 2:35.1 ratio for the first time since the theater. It is really a fun movie to watch. Sure the acting is a little cheesy, but look at the cast - Billy Campbell, Jennifer Connelly, Alan Arkin, Paul Sorvino, Ed Lauter, Terry O'Neill, and Timothy Dalton - now that is a cast to sit back and just enjoy the entertainment.

Definitely worth the wait, and if they never give us another edition with extras, I am a happy camper. At last I can get rid of the non-anamorphic DVD copy that I have had since day one.

I wish this was a Blu-ray combo pack...c'mon Disney! Don't have a Blu-ray player yet lol, so it'd just be sitting there until I do.

No coupon for this one? If not, I definitely will be waiting for a while. I want it badly, but really, I shouldn't be buying anything right now, ha. I would hate to miss out on a coupon though, and I wanna encourage more Disney live-action releases...

This movie is selling very cheaply at Target and Best Buy ($17.99) and Wal-Mart has it for $17.96.

I really think coupons are for major releases and our friends at Disney don't consider this a major release.

Money is tight for me as well. I have no doubt after sometime, it will get cheaper. At the same point, I really want to encourage more releases and many time sales are based on the first few weeks after release. I'm sad this wasn't at least $14.99. Oh well, I'm happy for toughs who can afford it right now and again, plan on picking this one up when I can. I love this film!

Just saw for the first time - rented on Netflix, they sent the DVD (even though I've switched my preferences to Blu-ray - they must not have the Blu-ray edition?). I thought the first hour or so was a bit slow but it picked up after and I loved the retro feel! The mystery story was really cool to follow. Jennifer Connelly was PERFECT for the role!
