Well, thanks to all the winners, especially to Divinity because I talk to him a lot and have commented and encouraged his signatures so much, I love them!

And also, a thank you to, well, the Disney Essence debate award pseudo-half-going to me! lol

And let's finish up the non-member awards before I start going nuts later tomorrow, why not? If nothing else, I'd like to keep this chugging along, job commitments be damned! Be ready all of you guys to throw your kudos everywhere*!

* Please do not throw Kudos granola bars at me. They actually really hurt.

First up we've got our Poll / Game of the Year! I feel a little odd doing this one, as personally I spend little to no time on the game forums, but since no one else stepped up to bat, here I sit! Still, from what I've gathered during the day I sent our volunteer moms to do some research for me, there's quite a lot going on there. Lots of these "hurt or heal" games. And really, what better way to determine the winner of a popular vote than by doing something vaguely similar, hmm?

Poll / Game of the Year

Hurt or Heal: Alan Menken Disney Songs by Disney’s Divinity
Hurt or Heal: Disney Horses by TsWade2
Hurt or Heal: Male Disney Heroes by xWKDNiiNJAx
TPBM (The Person Below Me): Volume the Fifth by TheSequelOfDisney

AND THE GOLDEN MICKEY GOES TO...

Hurt or Heal: Alan Menken Disney Songs
Image

Hurt or Heal: Alan Menken Disney Songs is grateful for the opportunity to step out from the shadows of it's siblings and finally achieve some recognition so it's mom maybe will finally stop asking when it'll move out of the basement and make something of itself.

Congrats to the topic and to Disney’s Divinity!

Next up, intrigue, drama and excitement with Event / Breaking News of the Year! It's been a pretty wild year news-wise, running the gamut from some exciting re-releases to the potential implosion of our website and the end of UD/DVD as we know it and everything in between. I suspect we all know what the hot topic will be this year, but let's see if it was intense enough to take home the win.

Event / Breaking News of the Year

101 Dalmatians Removed from the Diamond Edition Line
Cars 2 Getting “Rotten Reviews” by Film Critics
Disney Announcing More Classics to be Theatrically Re-released in 3D
Robert Iger Exiting Disney in 2016
Sitepocalypse Now
Sitepocalypse Averted

AND THE GOLDEN MICKEY GOES TO...

Sitepocalypse Now
Image

There is nothing funny about Sitepocalypse Now.

So, I suppose, congratulations to this potentially horrible news, and may I speak for all of us when I say I was so glad to see the Sitepocalypse Averted announcement following it.

To go back to some of our website's features, we will now focus on Interview of the Year! I have to say, the one really good part about assembling some potential interviews to use as nominations was that I got a chance to re-read so many of them, and can I say, wow? Like... just to see the total amount of talent we've been lucky enough to interview is almost stunning. Also, I'm jealous. So very, very jealous. Like, green. Um, anyhow, let's find out now which Disney talent will rise to the top, interview-style!

Interview of the Year

Don Hahn by Luke Bonanno
Glen Keane by Luke Bonanno
Michael Arndt by Luke Bonanno
Nathan Greno & Byron Howard by Luke Bonanno
Roger Allers & Ron Minkoff by Luke Bonanno
Tony Bancroft by Luke Bonanno

AND THE GOLDEN MICKEY GOES TO...

Glen Keane by Luke Bonanno
Image

Glen Keane is not only known as a talented animator, but also was probably the inspiration for little Billy in the daily comic orb "Family Circus." I mean, I didn't look it up online to double check it, but that sounds right, yeah?

Congratulations, little Glenny!

And once again we find ourselves with another 50/50 category, Message Board Idea of the Year. Did you all place your bets? It's too late to now!

Message Board Idea of the Year

Creating a Rant Thread (The Universe Has Stomped On Me)
is pleased to prove that at the end of the day, giving people a place to gripe will always trump free goods.

Bow down before "Creating a Rant Thread!" And be sure to join us tomorrow afternoon as we get down to business and finally start dishing out some awards that recognize the mortar of the message boards, all of you lovely posters! And maybe me too, even, if I can pull off a strong sympathy vote.

Good afternoon, ladies and gents! Now that we've picked over each and every part of our website we can move on to some new ground, beginning with the Golden Mickey for Most Amusing Posts! Comedy. Much like how comedy is prevalent in all Disney movies (except "Chicken Little"), our unique brand of comedy is splattered all over the forum. Without comedy, our boards would apparently just be a big rant thread and a lot of hair-pulling over Disney Essence. And then where would we be? Someplace sad. Someplace very, very sad. Now let's honor a member whom we feel perhaps best exemplifies a sense of humor on UD / DVD.

Psh, I made my own day when I had to announce that I didn't win. Do you think it doesn't upset me to not have your love and affection? Well IT DOES. Now we'll all just have to try harder next year. I've already got a crackerjack team of writers working away on some snappy new material for me once the awards end that'll really make you all smile wryly.

Either way... let's all stay cool! These awards are about making people happy! And if you're all unhappy, I'm unhappy, and if I'm unhappy, Hell hath no fury like a miserable awards show host. Just ask James Franco. Now, buck up, little campers, and let's move on to Most Intelligent Member, which will surely become the new gold standard for prestigious award until we get to the next one.

Smart people! This forum is full of them. But you, the forum as a whole, have nominated six to be your intellectual superiors, only to then chuck them back to a merciless voting process sure to leave their big brains and bigger egos with the biggest bruises. The winner of this award will surely become the new guiding light to which we as a forum will turn to in times of crisis. Or they'll just get to say they're smart this year, I dunno, I haven't quite decided how much power they get yet.

Now comes my favorite part of the show: the part where I use a speech someone else wrote. Let's all welcome UmbrellaFish to the stage for the Most Informative Member award, and may I add my own thanks for being being one of the few people on this forum actively trying to make my life easier.
UmbrellaFish wrote:DVDizzy runs on information. If information wasn’t constantly coming out and being reported by our nominees tonight, the forum wouldn’t be able to have all the fascinating discussions it has, because we wouldn’t know a thing about what to talk about. Except Milk Buds. There are always Milk Buds. But I digress. I think the whole community is very thankful for all the nominees tonight who continue to ignite discussion and make DVDizzy the perfect place to be.

And the nominations are...

And now, for the last award of the evening, I once again welcome the wonderful UmbrellaFish!
UmbrellaFish wrote:
(Instrumental of “The Age of Not Believing” plays as UmbrellaFish and Angela Lansbury walk out on stage, side-by-side)

Angela Lansbury: Friendship is a special connection two people hold together. Friendship has been wonderfully defined in such Disney and Pixar movies as The Fox and the Hound and Toy Story, and these movies resonate with us because, we too, have special friendships. I’ve been lucky to count Stephen Sondheim, Kate Hepburn, Mr. Disney himself, and now, UmbrellaFish as close friends. Isn’t that right?

UmbrellaFish: Sure, I guess.

Angela Lansbury: Furthermore, a person who’s lucky to break bread with many people could be described as being friendly. And tonight, UmbrellaFish and I are pleased to honor the DVDizzy Member who can be best described with that adjective.

UmbrellaFish: Yeah.

Angela Lansbury: UmbrellaFish, since you are a member of this community, perhaps you’d like to share your thoughts on this award?

UmbrellaFish: Okey-dokey. Well, I describe friendship as holding another person in great esteem, devoting your entire life to them, trying to petition them to appear on the most popular show on TV, and jumping at joy when given the opportunity to appear with them on stage. I don’t consider it friendship when said “friend” stops answering your phone calls later, and ultimately hands you a restraining order after bumping into them at the supermarket a couple dozen times. That is not what I’d call friendship!

Angela Lansbury: Oh. What an interesting definition.

UmbrellaFish: And then, when she’s says she wants to patch things up, and that she’ll present with me here tonight, I get a phone call five minutes before it’s our turn to present and says she can’t make it but she’ll send someone else who I’ll be excited to see. And who does she send? Some Mary Poppins-wannabee, that’s who!

Angela Lansbury: You know, I don’t think that’s quite fair. I’ve made quite a name for myself in the theatre and television world, you know.

UmbrellaFish: Is that so? Then where’s you’re dame hood, Angie?

Angela Lansbury: I have never been so utterly disrespected and insulted before. I thought acting with Catherine Zeta-Jones was hell, but you are the most despicable human being I have ever met in my life!

UmbrellaFish: Ha! Insult me when you have an Oscar!

Angela Lansbury: Fine. That’s it. I’m leaving. Julie’s going to have to give me one hell of a thank-you note to pay back for this! (she exits)

UmbrellaFish: You’re not worthy to wipe the mud off her sensible slacks! (he exits)

SpringHeelJack: (rushing on stage) So, this is kind of embarrassing… Let’s forget all about that spectacle, shall we? The nominees for Friendliest Member are…

Congrats to all the Winners and the nominees that didn't win so far. For myself, just being nominated is an honor and award too.

Let's have the End Of line Club entertainingly electrify the boys and girls here , without treachery though....
