Favorite Character, Scene, and Song in 101 Dalmatians

Post by Lazario »

You know the drill. What is your favorite character, scene, and song from Disney's 1961 puppy parade, 101 Dalmatians?

(Mine

Character: Cruella DeVil(le)

Scene: Sgt Tibbs seeing the smoke coming from Hell Hall and sneaking into the house to investigate

Song: "Cruella DeVil(le)")

(Yes, I'm actually not 100% sure how her name is spelled)

Character: Um, I don't know if I have a fave in this one. Maybe Cruella or Pongo.

Scene: I'm going to go with the opening, where Pongo is looking for a girl for Roger. Lotta good scenes in this, though. The birthing scene is another fave.

Song: Cruella De Vil or Dalmation Plantation...

I'm pretty undecided in this one. I wonder how I'll do with the others....

Agreed. The opening (including the incredibly creative credits) all the way up until the church scene. Okay, that's not actually a scene, but a whole sequence of scenes. But okay, if I had to choose only *one* scene, I'd go with the birthing scene, too. Especially the exchange between Roger and Cruella. Just thinking about it cracks me up.

Character: I think Roger is my favorite.

Character: Cruella de Vil, of course. Putting her in another category (because she’s that above everything else in the film), I would go with Pongo or Roger. Perdita's the only uninteresting character here, imo.

Scene: All the Cruella scenes are about tied, but I think the climax is my favorite just because you get to see her car in action. As a child, I was obsessed with the part where she ends up in the snow and then comes flying over the hill.

Song: “Cruella de Vil” by default. I’m not really interested in anything here.

Favorite Character: Cruella DeVil. No Contest. One of the best Disney villains ever.

Favorite Song: Cruella DeVil. The most memorable of the two songs in the movie.

Favorite Scene: The puppies disguising themselves by rolling around the soot.

Wow! The film is fifty years old!

Favorite Character: Sergeant Tibbs. If he wasn't observant, no one else would have ever paid attention to what's going on at Hell Hall to want investigate it. He's the first character to lead the 99 puppies away from danger the best he can. He has to help Colonel with understanding twilight bark messages.

Favorite Song: Cruella DeVil. Such a fun song! It was probably the inspiration for the song "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch".

Favorite Scene: The dalmatian family traveling in a snowstorm till a collie finds them and leads them to a dairy farm to rest. I always really liked the collie!

101 is the ultimate Dog film imo, cause the characters' personalitys are so rich, Disney didn't take advantage of Roger's postion (song writer) to incorpate (possible) memorable Disney songs.

Pongo and Cruella are my fav. characters, met people like Cruella (minus want a actual dog skin coat) and I just somehow find her delicously creative. Pongo reminds me alil bit of my dog Nemo, always scouting for adventure, enjoying a good nap/walk, 'cept Nemo thinks he's TOP dog (he's a cardgian welish corgi).

The relationship between Pongo/Perdita and Roger/Anita is handled extremely well, I think Bill Peet understood the importance of Friendship between the pets/owners.

Cruella's theme is classic, it explains everythin we need to know bout her character before she arrives on the scene, there alil image in my head of Cruella actualy singing this song.

The Twilight Bark is my fav. cause I've been there with my dog tryin to communicate with the neighborhood dogs in AZ, sure it may seem annoying but it made me respect the dogs' 6th sense of knowledge that something unusal is happening.

Recently I watched Patch's London Adventure and found it fairly enjoyable, the plot could've been stronger yet I was impressed with how close the animation was to the orignal.

one of my favourite films, just cos bill peet had so much to do with it. i grew up on his books and now my neice and nephews are being raised on them. my neice [age 5, 6 next week] is just finishing her first year of school and she can read big bad bruce almost entirely without help.

scene: pongo and perdita attacking the baduns and the puppies escaping hell hall. i also like when the puppies are born and roger gets covered in spots from cruella's pen.

character: i like them all equally, but i think sgt tibbs would be top of my list

song: cruella de vil
big kid at heart
