I agree, and "Fantasia Continued" doesn't really sound that great either. I much prefer Fantasia 2000!

Before deciding upon the title Tangled, other most prominent contenders were The Thief and the Tower, The Hidden Tower and The Secret Tower.

I hate that "Frozen" title, and I guess I'm traditionalist, but I think I would have liked Rapunzel a little more than Tangled. All the other final choices were well made.

Actually, yeah, I forgot and was going to say I like the Basil title. Still, I don't have a problem with the Great Mouse Detective title, ha.

I hadn't discovered this thread until now. Great work of compilling all these early titles, Sotiris! There were many I hadn't heard before. I can't believe they considered The Adventures of Flynn Rider for Tangled or China Doll for Mulan. I hadn't heard An Arabian Night for Aladdin until now either. It's an interesting title, but I'm glad it wasn't the final one.

Others I'm glad got replaced include: The Concert Feature, Fantasia Continued, Treasure Island in Space, Sweating Bullets or Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2.

While some I wish hadn't been changed are: Two Fabulous Characters, Basil of Baker Street, The Frog Prince/The Frog Princess, Rapunzel, and The Snow Queen. Although, I don't mind Frozen either given that the film doesn't have much to do with the original fairy tale. It's curious that Anna and the Snow Queen, which was also considered for the movie, ended up being the title for Japan.

I think that Basil of Baker Street changed into The Great Mouse Detective and Rapunzel changed into Tangled are the ones that truly bother me, these titles are very Un-Disney.

I don't mind The Princess and the Frog, but The Frog Prince sounds more fitting in my opinion. And I like Frozen, it's not like Tangled where Tangled doesn't really mean anything to what's going on in the film. I also prefer it that way because Frozen isn't really an adaptation of The Snow Queen.

I wish they'd retained The Frog Princess, Rapunzel, and The Snow Queen. At least Zootopia, WIR, and Moana didn't get dumb adjective titles. Hopefully that horrid trend is gone with the wind, since it's been a while. I love Raya's title.

I feel like if Frozen was called The Snow Queen, even though it's a very loose adaptation, that title would still make it fit in with the other classic Disney movies, so it really is needed.

I feel like Frozen doesn't fit anyway because it's CGI so that's just as well...

I feel Walt would have ventured to do beautiful CGI for some Disney Classics but kept the more classic-sounding names.

D82, you mentioned Sweating Bullets; there was a bull named Bullets in that version, so it would have been for that version, but yeah, out of place for HOTR!
