So, I wouldn't say I'm officially back on these forums. I'm undecided. And, I hear the site might be disappearing soon? Anyway, I was drawn back by the need to sell some of my Disney (and other) collectibles and also one of the posts in the Disney forum, ha. So, I decided to change my very old Avatar.
This is a scene from a one page comic I was commissioned to do which put two Kim Possible characters in the roles of two Peanuts characters. I was commissioned to do this by a really nice guy who became a good online friend of mine as well as repeat client, which I really appreciate since I am borderline homeless right now, ha (I'm at my mom's house right now, because I just lost my dad to Leukemia, and she needs me to drive her to chemo, but usually I am at my sister's place in Austin where I sleep on her floor while I job hunt). Anyway, sadly, this friend of mine died a couple of months ago from cancer. It was a complete surprise to me. But, this is a bit from one of his commissions, and I think it's pretty cute.
It's still more bittersweet though, as I just noticed something. I had been dating this girl in Austin who was truly my idea of perfect in every way, and we got along so well, but she still lived with her ex-boyfriend. They ended up patching things up! We were getting closer and closer, and then that happened out of the blue! Well, my fault for being hopeful. Anyway, the reason this image gets to me in relation to that is that, I just noticed, she looks exactly like Bonnie does in this pic! Seriously, she looked a lot like her, but also, even though it's supposed to be a sexy joke to see Bonnie trying to wear Lucy's little dress, the girl I was dating dressed A LOT like this, ha. She could pull it off beautifully though... Argh! So bittersweet to see this now that I see the unbelievable resemblance!

Sigh . . . I'm really sorry to hear about Mike, I didn't really know him but was familiar with his dA page because of his commission work with you. I indirectly learned about his passing through another friend of mine, minnesotamutt (the fanart world is pretty small, isn't it). Regardless, losing friends and family is difficult, no matter the reason. I'm sure I've mentioned this many times by now, but I lost both my parents to cancer and a brother to a car accident; I also lost a very good online friend a couple years back when he was murdered. I know how hard it all is.
Oy. I don't mean to be depressing. Just hang in there! I've been in a near-homeless situation myself; it was one of the lowest points in my life and is something I'll never forget. I know it's a struggle now but all these things will make you stronger as time passes.
Anyway, welcome back! I do hope you'll find the time to stick around.

Wow, thanks for the welcome and the dancing elephants, Goliath! I feel like I've been using the whole internet to blow off steam, and now most people think I'm a big whiner-baby, ha. I swear, I am only that way online! Ha. That thread sounds interesting though. I may have to give it a go.
Glad to hear the site is going to survive. I did keep checking back here now and again. Always found it an indispensable source of information.
Enigmawing,
I actually didn't know that about how you lost so much of your family. I appreciate you sharing though, and I knew you had been through some of this other stuff before and would know some of what I'm going through. Thanks so much for the support.

Hey Laz, gosh, I am, but not sure about anytime soon. Basically, I had been using it for vlogging and experimenting with my Moonlight Movie Show, and giving my comic strip more exposure. However, just recently, I created the website MoonlightMotelComic.com for my comic strip and the rebirth of the "real" Moonlight Movie Show.
http://www.moonlightmotelcomic.com
Originally, my Moonlight Movie Show was supposed to be a late-night hosted show of horror and other weird movies with my comic strip character as the host, but my early version followed stuff more like The Cinema Snob instead. However, I really don't have good enough editing and audio equipment/know how to keep doing the "critic" thing, and I tend to like almost everything anyway, ha. Plus, I now have access to a lot of public domain movies, so I might finally bring Moonlight Movie Show back in the style it was originally planned. I might still use YouTube for this, unless I find something better, though of course they'd be posted on my site too. I might do some new comic postings on YouTube as well, just to inform folks about my website, and perhaps the vlogs as well. I don't know when I will start with anything new though, as I'm busy taking care of my mom right now. It definitely won't be till 2012, I suspect. At least, in the case of the Moonlight Movie Show. In fact, I'd like to wait till I have my own apartment to start up with that again. But, I AM planning on it. A new vlog or the return of my comics to YouTube could happen anytime though, but I've mostly been focusing my efforts on my website lately, and also my blogspot blogs: http://www.montymoonlight.blogspot.com
And DeviantArt, of course: http://www.slave2moonlight.deviantart.com
Incidentally, I know my website doesn't look that amazing, ha. I don't actually know html, so I'm just using the drag and drop for now. I may have to create a thread somewhere here to get tips on sprucing it up. I also don't have adsense on there yet, or any other monetization, which sucks, because I really want to turn my webcomic site into my full-time thing someday. I am not that net savvy though. I am learning as I go. It's an iPage site, and they just have a place for Google Adsense that says "Coming Soon". *sigh*
