Yes and no. I wouldn't think of it as a modern day version, seeing as how it's not set in "modern day". I think it's an updated version and telling the tale in a different way. If that makes sense. Good movie, by the way.DisneyFan54012 wrote:Isn't Tangled an modern day version of Repunzel?

To answer the original question: Yes, of course I would, and I do!DisneyFan54012 wrote:Would you guys still buy a Disney or a Disney/Pixar movie you already saw @ the movie theater?

I was going to say the same thing.
If I don't see the movie in the theater first, generally I won't buy it. That is how my collection has grown because all the movies I have seen in the theater that I want to again and again, are in my vast collection.
I have over 6,000 titles in my DVD and Blu-ray collection (only about 600 are in Blu-ray), and I still have about 100 VHS titles that have yet to be releaed in form of DVD or Blu-ray.

Were all 6000 titles bought legally or were most of them downloaded?

my thought after seeing tangled was "i have to wait how long to actually own it?!" heheh.Cheshire_Cat wrote:If I enjoyed the movie enough, then I would buy it. My first thought after I saw Tangled in theaters was, "I am so buying this movie when it comes out!"
as for the q, my collection is split down the middle. i own dvds for every disney/pixar film i can find, whether i saw it in cinema or not [ie, snow white]
for other companies, i base my purchase on past experience. with studio ghibli, i rented ponyo and fell in love with it. i bought it the next day. i then picked up howls moving castle, loved that even more, so went nuts. i am missing a few titles, but not too many.
