Cool... Thanx mate...
I just thought it be easier for people to discuss the song, if they'd actually heard it.
Personally, I don't think it fits into the story... Cleaning up the movies, and polishing the soundtrack is ok... but messing with the movie itself and adding new scenes is a whole different thing. I like the way Aladdin is, and was since it came out... Never really cared for the new songs in Beauty... or Lion King either...

Exactly. I am fairly certian though that the cover art DVDFile posted along with their update (which we have seen here before) is the final art, and I have to ask if Proud of Your Boy is in fact in the movie why there is no bottom banner on the cover proudly proclaiming an all-new musical sequence or song as they have done with the covers for BATB and TLK?Eh, are we sure about that? DVD File's been wrong quite a bit lately. They're $30 off on the SRP for the Aladdin Gift Set, and were 3 weeks and an aspect ratio off on Darby O'Gill. Also, according to them, Mulan was making its DVD debut and would also be available in a gift set, and all of the catalogue titles for the rest of the year are going to be in their original aspect ratios.
I'm fairly sure we will not be getting POYB in the movie. Plus, I'd like to know where he got these specs from. They sound mostly reasonable but I dunno were they came from so, I'd like to see Disney's press information that confirms PYOB will be in the movie. My guess is that none such exsists and it was just his interpertation of the available press info, considering the precidence set by BATB and TLK.

Everyone keeps saying we'll have the theatrical version to default too, which is true. However, it's unlikely that this one will be treated with the Disney Enhanced Home Theater Mix. That's my biggest concern with the new scene. I want to have the theatrical, but I'll most likely watch the enhanced version... but that doesn't mean it needs more movie added to it.

The theatrical cut should have the Enhanced Home Theater Mix just like The Lion King did. In fact, if this scene is somehow incorporated into the film, which I'm not yet taking as fact, it'd be with branching, I'd think. Presumably, this would mean it just wouldn't offer the commentaries on the longer cut.awallaceunc wrote:Everyone keeps saying we'll have the theatrical version to default too, which is true. I read an interview with the Directors of Aladdin a couple months ago, and they said that disney came to them and asked them if there was anything that initially got cut from the film that they would want to reintergrate for the Special Edition and they said NO. In the interview they said that nothing new would be add to the film, so no worries people, Proud of Your Boy is definately not in the movie, accordding to them.
However, don't expect the theatrical version as you saw it before, because Disney themselves have acknowledged this time around, that 40% of the animation was "touched up" and revised... I personally think this can only make the film better, but no doubt there will be those of you who object, but sadly for you, it will all be in vain... o well...
This is on erelease I can not waitt to get my hands on!!!!

Whats up with the new Aladdin art! I hate the First Time On DVD Banner up top. I really dont think that this is going to be the final artwork, its probly just a kid who sent this to someone just to get attention. Disneys banners are ugly but no like this its not Disneys style. Disney doesnt make this kindd of ugly banners they make other kinds of ugly banners......... u know what Im saying?
No the "First Time on DVD" originates from Disney. I don't think that will be on the final version, but that's what they've sent to retailers at this point.SofaKing381222 wrote:Whats up with the new Aladdin art! It definitely won't be on the final release, as shown in page 7 of this thread (since that pic no longer works, go here: http://www.ultimatedisney.com/coverart.html#october ).
As I said, the "First Time on DVD" is what's been given to retailers. The press image is different. This I know. Nothing is definite at this point.Disneykid wrote:It definitely won't be on the final release, as shown in page 7 of this thread (since that pic no longer works, go here: http://www.ultimatedisney.com/coverart.html#october ).

A thought struck me.
Does the DVD cover art remind anyone else of the King of Thieves VHS art (perticularly how Geenie is being featured?) He was also on the KoT VHS spine.

I do think that the KoT VHS Geenie is much more...Geenie-ish in pose. The Aladdin DVD Geenie looks a bit more 3-Dish in his pose. But...both are good.
Just an observation of ismmilarity, though.

that's cool Jake! The cover for that King of Thieves movie is really pretty, I hope they use it again for the dvd! At least the picture of Aladdin and Jasmine should stay the same. Has anyone seen King of Thieves? I never did, (but I'll buy the dvd anyway). I've seen Return of Jafar, are they equally as good?
Also,
I just loooove the Aladdin Platinum Disc art, especially disc 1!!!

I think that cover art with the disc art is a little outdated. After all, it was posted about a month ago here on DVD Answers... I guess the disc art is a subject to change then, but we'll see

I knew that, I just never commented before on how much I like that disc art, and since it's on the front page of our site now, I figured now's the time to comment.Jens wrote:I think that cover art with the disc art is a little outdated.
