As promised Saturday was a great day for movies and I picked my favorite Snake movies to watch:
Saturday, October 8, 2011:
37. Snakes (1974)
38. Rattlers (1976)
39. Anacondo (1997)
40. Ssssssss (1973)
41. Stanley (1972)
42. Venom (1981)
43. Snakes On A Plane (2006) Blu-ray
Will not be watching any movies tonight (Sunday) or Monday. But since I am almost half way there, I can take some time off to watch some of newest additions to my Blu-ray collection.

To answer your question Littlefuzzy, I've seen both of them before. I was going to watch them in order, but I felt like getting the second out of the way since I enjoy the first one more and would have more time for it later.
As for the Scream movies, I went out of order since I bought the 4th and didn't want to wait...and today I wanted to get the least liked sequels out of the way
Well. Except for Aliens, that just happened to be on t.v at the time.

Saturday October 9th - Dracula (1931) - I want to start of by stating that I know I am a little late getting into viewing Halloween movies, but I have been caught up in other things (mainly homework. I had to read The Odyssey entirely in 2 weeks). Anyway, I decided to start off by watching the Bela Lugosi version of Dracula. I thought he gave a great performance, but I thought the actor who stole the show (after him anyway) was Dwight Frye as Renfield. The other actors do decent jobs, but nothing to write home about. Edward Van Sloan, The actor who plays Van Helsing, sounds too much like Bela Lugosi. There were a few effects that seemed a little cheap (but may have been good for their time). I also thought the editing was a little abrupt at a few areas. I also found it weird how there was next to no musical score in the whole film. It may not be as good as Frankenstein or The Wolf Man, but it's still an enjoyable monster movie.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2
Got to the theater today and wrapped-up the Harry Potter series with Deathly Hallows Part 2. It was great watching all 8 movies over the past week or so. If people thought Part 1 was slow, this one more than made up for it. I wonder if J.k. Rowling will revisit this franchise.

Garfield's Thanksgiving and Garfield's Halloween Adventure
Since it was Thanksgiving here in Canada today, thought I'd watch something simpler while eating my bachelor Thanksgiving dinner of chicken and potato salad. Haven't seen both of these in ages. Did a little double feature and watched both specials. Classic Garfield.
It's still fairly early in the evening so I think I can still fit another two movies in tonight.

It's weird, I haven't seen this movie until now, but I'm sure I've seen scenes from it - must've been on TV and I didn't even realize what I was watching. The scenes at Chris Eccleston's compound seemed familiar. Great movie! Lot's of blood. Lots of gore.

28 Weeks Later
I have seen this one before. This was my 2nd time watching it. Of the two, I think I like this one better. Really great follow-up. Again, lots of blood, lots of gore!

Werewolf of London (1935)
I decided to get into my Universal Studios Wolf Man Legacy Collection, and started with the non Larry Talbot movies first. And actually, Werewolf of London was the first Universal Studios werewolf movie to be released, 6 years before the original Wolf Man. This one is a little slower. The makeup isn't as elaborate as Wolf Man either. An alright movie overall.

She-Wolf of London (1946)
Slow and not as exciting as The Wolf Man. That's pretty much all I got to say about this one. And it was released 6 years after The Wolf Man.

The Wolf Man (1941)
A classic! One of my favourites from the old Universal Studios' monsters. Love the makeup. Love the atmosphere with the misty forest, and the mysteriousness of the gypsy camp. Love it. Bela Lugosi (Dracula) and Claude Rains (The Invisible Man) costar, with Lon Chaney Jr in the lead role.

Frankenstein Meets The Wolf Man (1943)
Decided to take a break from sending out resumes and have a matinee. Finished watching my Wolf Man Legacy Collection with Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man. It's like watching the lead-up to The Avengers. A direct sequel to The Wolf Man, but I'm confused at where in the Frankenstein timeline this one takes place, before House of Frankenstein maybe? It's great to see Lon Chaney Jr. reprise his role and Maria Ouspenskata is backas the gypsy woman Maleva. My only gripe is Boris Karloff wasn't back as the monster, instead Bela Lugosi took over this role. Two things stuck out at me: the opening graveyard, in style, it looked like the one they designed for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. And the final climax with the dam breach, it was like X-Men 2 with the Alkali Lake dam. Great follow-up. Love the atmosphere of these movies.
Got some chores to do, but I'll watch some more later this evening.

The Wolfman - Unrated Director's Cut (2010)
Love this remake. It's great and underrated. I think what hurt this during its theatrical release last year was the release date: (1) It was Valentines Day weekend, not Halloween, (2) It was Chinese New Year, and (3) It opened the same day the 2010 Olympic Winter Games started in Vancouver - so I don't think too many people got out to the theaters during the couple weeks that it was out. Had Universal Opened it in October, it would've done a whole lot better. Also, they should've released the Unrated Director's cut , although I still haven't seen the theatrical release. I do like the changes from the original (not gonna say them here in case anyone hasn't seen it yet). And it's great to see Rick Baker's work again on screen. I do recommend the Unrated Director's Cut - more blood, more gore!

Frankenstein (1931)
Boris Karloff's original classic. Love the set design of the lab - later used by Mel Brooks in Young Frankenstein. The one thing I keep forgetting though, actually two things, is that Dr Frankenstein's name is Henry in this one and not Victor, and his assistant is Fritz, not Igor. Universal wants to remake Bride of Frankenstein, but I hope they could remake this one first (even though we did get Mary Shelley's Frankenstein in 1994, but it wasn't Universal). I like what they did with The Wolfman, so I want to see what the could do with this one.

Saturday October 8th - Dracula (1931)
Tuesday October 11th -House of Wax(1953)
Friday October 14th Psycho(1960)-One of the most memorable Hitchcock films. Anthony Perkins steals every scene he's in as the seemingly calm Norman Bates. It may take a while to build up the suspense, but it is worth it. If you're a Hitchcock fan, this is one movie you HAVE to see from beginning to end. Oh, and stay far away from the Gus Van Sant remake as possible.

Continuing with my movie watching, on the way to over 100 Horror films in 31 days (I don't count Harry Potter films or most Disney films & shorts to fit into the Horror category, and beside what the title of this thread says - it was taken from the Digital Bits years ago as "The 100 Horror Films in 31 Days of October" and changed by those here on UD who think Disney's "Halloweentown" and things like that are horror films.) You all can list what you want, and I will continue to watch my horror movie collection in my attempt to make it over the 107 I watched last year.
Thursday, October 13, 2011:
48. Abbott & Costello Meet the Killer, Boris Karloff (1949)
49. Dracula (1931)
50. Grindhouse Double Feature - "Planet Terror'/"Death Proof" (2007) Blu-ray

I'm currently watching Hocus Pocus, one of the few movies I'll watch this Halloween season. It's seriously my favorite Halloween movie ever (even though I've only seen a few); I have to watch it every year cause it's that good.

Bride of Frankenstein (1935)
The direct sequel to Frankenstein. Frank is frisky and wants, well you know. But the relationship is a failure and ends in sudden divorce, and an explosion. A great atmospheric piece, and I like that the actors from the first movie are back to reprise their roles. Apparently a remake is in the works, but who knows when it's coming out.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street - One of the other few Halloween films I'll watch. All of the actors (except Helena Bonham Carter) all sound pretty great and everyone's acting is awesome. It's one of my favorite musicals and is great for this time of the year.
