And while we're on the subject, have you guys heard about Disney Animators’ Collection Dolls?
Product description found on eBay also states that:Disney animators Mark Henn and Glenn Keane have teamed together to design a brand new of collectible dolls available exclusively at Disney Store and DisneyStore.com, titled the ‘Disney Animators’ Collection.’ The the dolls have a price tag of $24.50 each. The collection re-imagines the entire Disney Princess line as toddlers (although both Rapunzel and Tiana were featured as toddlers in their respective films and Ariel was seen as a toddler in the direct-to-video sequel, Ariel’s Beginning). The collection will be available in the Fall 2011.
Click to see the promo image of the dolls. This collection features the princesses as toddlers. It was entirely designed by Glen Keane and Mark Henn. Glen Keane was Supervising Animator for Ariel and Aladdin as well as being an Executive Producer for Tangled. Mark Henn was also a Supervising Animator for Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Mulan and Tiana so they know their princesses. Unlike the adult line where some of the facial sculpts can resemble Barbie, these are highly individualized molds. Each doll comes with a small cloth companion such as baby Meeko or baby Rajah. The outfits are very shiny except for Pocahontas, whose clothing is more leather-like.
Celebrating the heritage of Classic Disney Animation, these young renditions of your favorite Disney Princess were imagined by and created under the guidance of the Walt Disney Animation Studio's most renowned animators, bringing the characters to life in the most authentic way possible!
I'm kind of iffy on the whole DP merchandise overload, but I guess since Henn and Keane are involved in this, it can't be all that bad... Right?
