Thumbelina on Blu-ray

Post by Sotiris »

A new DVD of Don Bluth's Thumbelina is being released. A Blu-ray can't be far behind.

Although the composition is appealing, if you look closer you'll see that the faces are off-model.

Personally, I prefer the British logo to the American one.

I'd like to see some reviews before I make a decision to purchase this... I prefer the Region 2 logo, as well.

Really, does the cover have to look so girly? Anyway, depending on what's on the disc, I might purchase it.

Is it widescreen? That is all I care about!

Here's what it says on the back cover of the box set:

Although, this is for the UK-Region 2 DVD, I think it's safe to assume that the Region 1 DVD will also have the film in Fullscreen.

Thumbelina on Blu-ray

Post by MJW »

Don Bluth's 1994 animated film Thumbelina just went up for Blu-ray pre-order on Amazon today! Release date is 3/6/12.

I'm not the biggest fan of this movie, but as an animation fan and Don Bluth fan, I'll definitely pick it up!

Best news I've heard about Thumbelina in awhile! Since it's going Blu, I'm sure that it'll finally be in it's original aspect ratio, which I'm extremely glad about. I only have the VHS and it's been worn out for quite awhile. I'll definitely try and pick this one up.

It's the same with the recently-released DVD.

And that's the truth!

Fern Gully's cover is DISGUSTING! No parent will buy these movies for their kids if they think the movies are tacky cheapo films which is exactly what these covers make it look like. Why cant they just use the original poster art? :?
