months ago this was originally planned as a two disc. it would not surprise me if Disney decides to flip flop on this decision at the last minute them being Disney.

Plus I read an interesting article at Jim Hill Media about why the original idea of a Lilo and Stitch two disc set got scratched. Apparently, the folks at Disney took concerns by few parents far too seriously when they feared that their children would break the DVD or the player if they wanted to watch one disc and then the other.

Well I have your answer right here:
Get a multiple DVD player
OKay so my family is too poor for that, but I'm the youngest person in my house so :p
oh yeah and stop using the damn thing as a babysitter!

To clarify, the Region 1 US release WILL be a 2-disc set. The only ones that will be single-disc are the International releases.

Exactly Luke, this because of the Virtual Safari and Rafiki's Challenge game that will only be included on the US dvd. I wonder how big those games are? Or is there anything else left out?

Well, Rafiki's Challenge already turned up on one of the earlier European Lion King DVDs, I believe, according to 2099net.

I'd imagine that Virtual Safari does take up a significant amount of space, with its branching. Probably not too great of a deal, but if it wasn't on The Lion King 1 ½ DVD, they probably could have fit everything on one disc, without any additional compression.

"Come along, come along, sing a long with me, when I say rice, you say: And Pea"
Yes Rafiki's Challenge is on the Lion King 3 (not the Lion King 1 1/2).

It's fantastic/average/rubbish* (delete the inapplicable, but I've veering towards rubbish)

The above quote has nothing to do with Rafiki, the DVD, the game or the subject. But oddly it sounds fitting.
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database

Oh really???, why is Disney Doing that??, first the US is the only country in the world to have Brother Bear in the proper aspect ratio, now every 2 disc set is going to be a US exclusive??

I'm not sure if the following statement refers to orders placed on DinseyStore.com, or if Disney is only offering the lithographs for orders placed online. :?
Returned DVD/VHS must be accompanied by premium. (Lithograph) Valid only on pre-orders at DisneyStore.com.
I have a feeling that the lithographs are only available on DisneyStore.com, but I might be wrong.

Does anyone know if the retail stores will be offering the lithographs?

i'm not even going to think about buying or renting this movie for two reasons:
1. i already this movie on video
2. the bonus features do not look very good.

The DVD doesn't have a lot of features. The only thing I really like is the "Proud of Simba's Pride" Making of Featurette. I might watch the "One By One Short" too.
