Jane vs Kida
Personally I prefer Jane, just because she has the more interesting and fun personality overall and has a more interesting ambition being an explorer.
I always felt like Kida was too similar to Pocahontas and nothing about her personality really stood out to me.
Who do you prefer?

For me, it largely comes down to voice actors. Kida would be a better character if she had a less kiddy voice (the Rugrats association didn't help); Jane would have been an otherwise unremarkable love interest in a boy's movie, but Minnie Drive really brings her to life.
So, Jane for me.
So, Jane for me.

If they were to fight in combat against each other.....Kida would be the obvious answer....
Though as to whom I like better, I think is Jane.....maybe because one of my distant cousins was an actor and played Tarzan in a motion picture around 1958 and his part was Tarzan

Re: Jane vs Kida
Well, I guess I have to be one of the rare people here who prefer Kida. I certainly don't hate Jane, but I think she's overall too quirky and too perky. I don't like her design either. Kida, on the other hand, is gorgeous and has a deep and rich personality. She's playful, open, friendly and actually has some depth.

I agree that Kida has the better design of the two. Although the white hair felt like it was copied from an anime or something.DisneyFan09 wrote:Well, I guess I have to be one of the rare people here who prefer Kida. I guess Storm is an annie-may copy too since she has white hair too. LOL

I understand the reason for the white hair (considering the Atlanteans are so old--although you'd think their hair would last if their bodies did), but it still feels like they were trying too hard.

Anime was started around 70 + years ago so your point is moot. LOLDisney's Divinity wrote:Super Aurora wrote: Since when?

X-men started in 60's so it would be around 50+ years ago LOL.
And who care when Anime became popular in USA. That's has nothing to do with it.
All in all I see no reason of complaint over her hair color.

Not really, considering the fact that I was talking about when it became popular which was '90s-2000s.Super Aurora wrote: Anime was started around 70 + years ago so your point is moot. LOL
60 + 30 = 90. 1960s --> 1990sX-men started in 60's so it would be around 50+ years ago LOL.
I just gave my own thoughts. Considering Disney's version is heavily based off an anime (with much more similarities that that whole Kimba thing), it doesn't really bother me to make the comparison. I get it, you disagree. And who care when Anime became popular in USA. That's has nothing to do with it.

You only said 90's-2000's afterward to backtrack your reasoning. You never specified to begin with.Disney's Divinity wrote:Not really, considering the fact that I was talking about when it became popular which was '90s-2000s.
Either way, people of western countries knew of anime back in 60's anyway. so your argument is moot.

But it's 2011 now.

Even if we are to go by your reasoning, Atlantis started in 2001 and 2001 -1960 = 41 years. Still off by decade.

Actually both Atlantis and Nadia is based on 20,000 leagues under the sea. Considering Disney already adapt a live action movie and a ride on the book, it wouldn't be surprising if the adaption to an animated film is also their mind. smh.Disney's Divinity wrote:I just gave my own thoughts. No, but I do think it's a shitty comparison reason or argument to make that she an "anime copy" just because of having white hair.Disney's Divinity wrote:it doesn't really bother me to make the comparison.

Not really. I just assumed everybody knew anime got popular in the '90s with Sailor Moon, DBZ, etc. I didn't think I had to explain.Super Aurora wrote:You only said 90's-2000's afterward to backtrack your reasoning. Who cares? I wikipedia'd X-men before I even responded to you, so I already knew it was made in the 60's. You get the point, that's all that matters.Even if we are to go by your reasoning, Atlantis started in 2001 and 2001 -1960 = 41 years. Still off by decade.60 + 30 = 90. 1960s --> 1990s
More importantly, I don't care that much about Kida or what she looks like. Whatever reason I give doesn't really matter to me.No you don't get it.Disney's Divinity wrote:We get it, you disagree.
