You shouldn't do that to begin with. It's called hot-linking and it's frowned upon because you use another website's bandwidth. You just save the image you like, and then upload it to a free file-sharing service like imageshack, photobucket, tinypic etc and then you post the link here.

Hi Frankenollie,

This is how I do it; it's really simple:

1. Save the image you like on your computer.

2. Join a free pic-sharing site. Photobucket.com is a good one. It's free and easy and you don't get any spam-mails after joining.

3. Upload your image to the site (in my case, Photobucket).

4. Copy and paste the img-code to the forum.

5. Done!

Yes, bcause every image from Gooogle Images belongs to a site or a blog.

No, actually. There are plenty that don't require you to register. Imageshack is one, for example.

Once you get your pic hosted at a website, you use the img tags to add it to a post, like so:

Code: Select all

pic url where you hosted the image: http://members.cox.net/~littlefuzzy1/funstuff/southpark-lf.gif
[img]http://members.cox.net/~littlefuzzy1/funstuff/southpark-lf.gif[/img]
That gives you this:

You can also link an image to a url, like so:

Code: Select all

[url=http://ubanimator.com][img]http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/2468/userbar541710ct5.gif[/img][/url]
That gives my sig image, which is clickable (to go to the sig animator site):

Image sites like imageshack often have various urls for the image, and will usually have a box or two that says "forum code". You can just copy that code and use it instead of adding the img tags manually.

Finally, on hotlinking: Some sites will block it, so if you stick a nice shiny pic in your post, other users might just see "404 - Hotlinking Forbidden". Also, some nastier sites might even replace a hotlinked image with something you REALLY don't want to include in your post, like the goatse.cx image, or something equally nasty.
