It only did in the US, outside it was all 1 disc edition, which was pretty lame....
Anyway the bluray edition was pretty amazing...although i didn't like that the colors of Bambi and the rest were like one big blob of paint...the bit of grain in the colors of the platinum edition had its charm

You can pre-order it through best buy online right now...It's just the steelbook case....but it's cool

They will have them in store. Just like the previous ones you pay the deposit and take home the case, then come back for the movie when its released. Some stores have put them out early, but they are supposed to be released on 9/4.
I am still on the fence about buying the NA trilogy set :/. I will probably wait until I see pics before I decide, cause I am still interested in the steelbook.

Meh, I would've preferred the silver bordering. The red bordering only worked for "A Christmas Carol" because it was a Christmas film. This just doesn't work for me.
Yeah, the red sort of clashes with the other Diamond Blu-rays too. Either way, I already have the soundtrack at this point, so unless they're going to surprise me and include more of the score, there's no real reason to get it.
I might also assume that it's going to be mp3s of the soundtrack and not the actual CD, so either way... I don't need it.

I went to Wal-mart yesterday and found shelves with Lion King merch in the toy section. It was mostly young Simba and young Nala stuff. I bought a young Simba plush and a young Nala plush.
The action figures are Wal-mart exclusive according to stickers on their packaging. I didn't see any hyena toys, which was disappointing. I wouldn't have been able to resist buying hyena toys if they were there.
Oh, those are pretty cute. I hope those are still available by the time the 3D release comes out, because I think after I go with a particular girl, I'll have us go over to Walmart and pick each of us up a plushie.
It will be 3D in cinemas with the option of getting it in 3D on Blu Ray. I saw Beauty and the Beast in 3D last year in Australia, and I have to say it looked really good.
The only thing that was horrible was having to see it at 10 in the morning by myself lol. Oh the shame.
Anyway, the Lion King is CAPS and as with BATB they scrub it cleaner than an operating theatre so it looks very sharp. However I can understand your view on 3D.
I actually hope it does really well how do you NOT want to see your favorite movies in the cinerma again? I love taking my little brother, and maybe my son one day to the mvoies to share in the same experience I did.
you know, I'm still not too pleased that we Americans got cheated out of getting a 3D theatrical re-release of Beauty and the Beast. Disney skips on that, but they go ahead with Lion King and only put BatB on Blu-ray 3d? Yeah, that sound really fair, Disney.

Are those the ones that kiss? as I saw all the new stuff today, and honestly the figures looked awful. The plushies look good thought except for the Scar beanie which didn't have his claws exposed.
Disney is awesome, and was the biggest part of my childhood.
I'd like to take my kids to see movies I love in theaters too, but I'd for them to subconsciously equate a splitting 3D-induced headache with "Beauty and the Beast" or something.
