My guess?

Probably for not listening to a moderator when told to "drop it", or possibly personal attacks on someone during a thread argument.

Actually, I've seen several "hotbed" threads lately, and it seemed Duster was involved in a few of them. Of course, there were others involved who kept fanning the flames as well (IMO).

It seems there have been WAAY too many threads like that on UD lately, where it goes from a civil debate to a heated argument. Tempers get lost, feelings get hurt, names get called, threads get locked, and the forum becomes slightly less like "The happiest place on earth."

Personally, I have very rarely seen him personally attack anyone. The worst you might get is "That was mean," but it's about a comment and not a person (it's not really different from others calling his own posts ridiculous, idiotic, etc., which I find more inflammatory in a "discussion," personally). I’m not fighting the moderators or anything, just pointing that out.

Some of the recent threads got pretty heated, and frankly I've seen stuff from several other members that *I* would consider personal attacks in those threads. I could see one of those being directed at Duster, and he responding in kind (with the post then being deleted because of the suspension.)

I am really starting to feel that some of these threads are out of place for UD. There are too many people who want to turn a civilized debate into an argument, and there's also a "well, he started it" mentality. Someone says something that ruffles feathers, then the other person responds, ruffling more feathers, and then it descends into "I have the right to stand up for myself" back-and-forth fights.

I agree. I don't recall ever seeing him personally attack anyone, but I have seen others make fun of him quite a few times. Like you, I am not arguing with the moderators or commenting on what specifically happened, because I don't know what happened, (and I don't get to read every single post), but I just wanted to agree with what you said, based on my own experiences reading his posts and talking to him.

I hope Disney Duster is doing well and will be back soon! (not "Backson", Back Soon) :)

Normally, I would leave the answering of this question to the suspended member or Luke, but there is a lot of speculation occurring in this thread. To bring an end to that speculation, I will answer the question. Disney Duster was suspended for the circumvention of thread moderation. The details surrounding his suspension are between Disney Duster and the moderation staff, please do not ask for a further explanation. He will be returning to the forums soon.

To address the other issues brought up in this thread: the moderation staff is aware of the problems currently plaguing the forum. There may be more forum members joining the suspended or banned list in the future. To help out the forum, I encourage anyone who sees a rule violation (such as a personal attack) or a thread that has become too heated, to contact one of the moderators through email or pm. Correspondence with the moderation staff is always kept confidential.

To be fair though, I just said that I had never personally seen him attack anyone, but that I didn't get to read every single post.

Thanks for the explanation, CJ :)

I also remember several things you said that were far from “nice,” though I couldn’t quote you right off since they weren’t directed at me. To be fair.

If I am one of these (which wouldn't surprise me), I will accept it, but I still wish to apologise for some arguably hurtful words, particularly towards Duster.

I'll report a violation if I read one, and I'll make every effort not to overstep the line of what is reasonable. You mods do great jobs, and I don't want to make them any harder :)

ThanKs for the...concern or defending, everyone. :D

Well, you know me, I think that the commenting and arguing should go on freely as long as no one personally attacks, as it always was, but...the bosses are the bosses.

Dr. Frankenollie, that was because you called my posts stupid, and I said you "would be a stupid jerk" I never actually called you one. If you consider that the same thing, then you can and I'm sorry as you apologized to me also, but I shall at least make clear what was actually said! I think you can call someone mean or a jerk though, it's not a personal attack to me like saying someone's stupid or an idiot.

Dr Frankenollie wrote: As I've said previously, I didn't call you stupid, I said your posts/opinions were stupid (although I can understand how you could mix up the two, and I've apologised).
Which could still easily be considered an inflammatory insult, since a person's posts/opinions are a part of who THEY are! There's a more diplomatic, and less insulting, way of disagreeing with someone, than saying "Your post/opinions are stupid". But I'm glad to hear you apologized! ;)

Welcome back, Disney Duster! :)

Well, what's important is we both did apologize and now we are more aware of what hurts each other's feelings.

Thanks for the welcome back!

Thank you Linden, and thank you for noticing what my name means! LOL You know it's supposed to be duster as in dusting as in "dusting for finger prints", but spreading Disney dus, and I wondered if I should change my name to Disney Dusty so people don't think I'm trying to remove Disney dust as in "feather dusting"... But the dictionary backs both meanings LOL.

And Disney Geek, thanks for saying that. I know it wasn't that big a deal, but thanks for making me feel better about it anyway.
