I have high hopes for this film. As a video game nerd (mainly a Nintendo fanboy) - this seems like an exciting opportunity for Disney to pay homage to classic retro video games (I bet something Tron related will pop up).

That first still looks... cheesy... but, if there are truly characters from Pac Man, Mario and more - this could be a huge draw.

Aside from the cimpette looking chick, this looks and sounds terrific!

The concept is great and it's sure to piss off the majority of UD because it's the opposite of "Disney essence"

Could not agree more on both counts; I'm already dreading the "Walt would not have made a film like this..." debate.

I can understand why some people are apprehensive about the images we have seen as the characters aren't the typical style we're used to seeing in a Disney film. But the fact that this isn't a typical Disney film is what has me so excited for it. I like the homages that they're paying to classic video games like Pacman and Super Mario, not to mention more modern games like Halo. I think it will be easier to form an early opinion of the film when we eventually see the first trailer but for me, the images shown at D23 have made me more excited for this film than I already was before.

I really think it will be nice to included other video game characters into this movie ... like barbie in toy story. Hopefully the animation will be spectacular!

I think it looks very good-- certainly different than anything we've ever seen Disney do before. I know nothing about video games, but I do like classic arcade games so that makes this film easier to digest for me.

I'm pumped!

Felix looks pretty Mario-esque to me. Give him a stache and you basically have one of the brothers as they appeared in Wrecking Crew.

Kinda want to see Vannelope in context with her kart racer before really judging Also, I'm curious if Calhoun is Samus inspired or based on the female version of Mass Effect's Shepherd.

I dunno; there’s only one person here who preaches the Disney essence, so…not sure how that could be a majority.

It’s not that they 'aren’t typical,' to me, it’s that they are kind of ugly. Pocahontas, Hercules, Lilo & Stitch and Mulan have “different” styles, but I still think they’re very beautiful films. Difference doesn’t always = great (check out Atlantis, for example).

I do, too. That’s why the film concept has been interesting to me since the very early stages. I only worry that the critics will just type-cast it as a Toy Story rip-off (when Brave Little Toaster was one of the first to do that, anyway).

Personally, I never said that the film is gonna suck. Actually, it has lot of potential and if it's done right it could be amazing from a storytelling aspect.

I only criticized the designs for the two characters as I find them unappealing and derivative.

I had no idea that Kenneth the Page, Sue Sylvester and Mr. Cellophane were all in the same movie! Those clips definitely sparked my interest, so thanks a bunch for posting them, Sotiris!

For any Tron fans, it seems that there's a possibility that the character of Tron, played by Bruce Boxleitner could make a cameo appearance in Wreck-It Ralph.

“We might see a walk on by Mr. Tron himself…the great Bruce Boxleitner. We’re talking with him.”

As a huge Tron fan, I wondered whether Disney would give a nod to it in Wreck-It Ralph. Hopefully it will happen and Tron will get his cameo.

From everything that's been posted so far this film, I can tell that I really like this concept. I honestly had no idea what direction they were going to go with this and always thought that the idea was kinda weak, but the more info we learn the more complex and appealing it seems. At least I'm a lot more excited for this than I was about a Pooh sequel. I hope this is a kind of film that feeds into a lot of the interest in the company that Tangled brought back.

I just want it to be successful not because it's a CG film because that would make Disney seem like they have an unfair biased when it comes to animation mediums.

I don't think I've ever walked out of the theatre of a CG film and heard anyone say, "Thank god that movie was CG, I wouldn't have liked it if it weren't!!!" lol I get what you're saying though.

I cannot imagine this film actually looking right as a handdrawn film. It has to go into so many game environments and all videogames were CG. Right from it's conception it had to be CG and honestly if it weren't I'd probably be upset it was handdrawn.

I don't think I've ever seen a movie become sucessful because of the animated medium it was produced in. I'd be shocked if "Wreck-it Ralph" were the first.
