No, this is the Pete Docter thread. Your original post said this was a Pete Docter film and hence the thread should be updated accordingly. I have no idea why you read the news bit I posted and thought it was referring to the dinosaur project.

This thread was created when Pixar announced a new film to be released on Nov. 27, 2013. Members here only assumed it was going to be directed by the Pete Docter, although no info was released on who was to be directing, and that's why his name is mentioned in this thread.estefan wrote:Actually, I think the thread creator is mixed up. I searched for "Pete Docter" in the search box and got this thread. After I posted that piece of news, he (for some reason) put "dinosaur" in the thread title. Have no idea why.
Now we know that this release date belongs to the "dinosaur film" which will be directed by Bob Peterson. The creator of this thread, Disneyphile, now edited the title of the thread upon this newly-released info. Now, the only thing left is for you to re-name the thread you created and dedicate it to Pete Docter's 'Mind' film because right now it seems we are having two threads for the same thing.
I am seriously banging my head over this! The original thread was about an upcoming Pete Docter film, thus the info I posted here is appropriate to this thread! It's not that complicated!
Why Disneyphile added "dinosaur" to the thread title, I have no idea! This should be the Pete Docter thread. The thread was originally created to discuss an upcoming Pete Docter thread.
It's like changing the Cars 2 thread into a Brave thread, just because Cars 2 was originally a 2012 release.

No, it wasn't. That's what I'm trying to tell you. This was a thread about an untitled Pixar film that had as a release date Nov. 27, 2013. People only discussed and speculated that Pete Docter may be the director. It wasn't a thread about Pete Docter's untitled film but about an untitled Pixar film with Nov. 27, 2013 as the release date.estefan wrote:I am seriously banging my head over this! Does this make any sense now?
Okay, I've edited the posts accordingly, but I still feel I'm right. I found this thread by searching for "Pete Docter" in the search box, but of course, you and the OP went and messed everything up.

Source: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/d ... xar-225635The movie is aiming for a holiday 2013 release. The story is set in a world where an asteroid didn't hit the Earth, thus allowing the creatures to keep living and evolving.
Peterson said he was inspired by a World's Fair he attended as a child where he saw animatronic dinos created by Disney.

Except an asteroid hit the earth in Dinosaurs.Mickeyfan1990 wrote:Didn't Disney do a movie about this already?

This is more similar to Jurassic Park, with dinosaurs in the present, I guess. Which wouldn't make sense, really, considering humans didn't evolve until after the previous organisms (ie dinosaurs) were killed off. Still, could be a interesting idea.

Even with not much known about it yet, I'm getting more and more excited as I find stuff out!

How does it not make sense. If dinosaurs were never killed off, they'd still be here now, walking around with us. Makes sense. No?Disney's Divinity wrote:Except an asteroid hit the earth in Dinosaurs.Mickeyfan1990 wrote:Didn't Disney do a movie about this already?![]()

Humans would not have evolved with dinosaurs at the top of the food chain. I'm pretty sure there were very few (?) mammals when the dinosaurs were around, and only came about after the evolution process was re-started with the asteroid.JDCB1986 wrote: How does it not make sense. But I was joking anyway.

Wouldnt it be hilarious if they kept the title "untitled pixar movie about dinosaurs"? Somehow they manage to make even a non title look good.
Honestly I was surprised to hear this news. I saw the speculation about this a while ago, but the rumor was put to rest in my mind when I heard from an un named source that they were just collaborating with Discovery Channel to do documentary type tv special. which I was looking forward to but didn't think a dinosaur movie was actually in the works. I thought at most we were getting a short. The premise sounds to me like Dinotopia. Should be interesting.
I'm just glad no Toy Story 4, or any other Pixar sequels (I don't count Planes) are in sight.

They won't. A movie about dinosaurs co-existing with humans in the modern day is the exact opposite of the Dinosaur ride and Dino-Land USA. Maybe a stage show replacing Finding Nemo the Musical, but that's it.singerguy04 wrote:I don't think anyone can really tell how mammals would have evolved if an asteroid hadn't wiped out the dinosaurs... That in itself is why this film seems interesting to me.
I wonder if this means Disney has any plans to re-do the Dinosaur ride in Animal Kingdom.
